Bag of Pretty

What kind of art inspires you the most?

To be honest, I am not sure I could say any special kind of art is my inspiration. I love art but I also love pretty things that might not be considered as art by many. I mostly create out of need, very rarely will I sit down and create something just for the fun of it. My excuse could be I don't have time for that.

What's one of your favorite art projects you've done with your child?

It is without a doubt the first ever project I did with Pavle. You can get an idea why here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/bagofpretty/sets/72157629675172471/ The finished art-work is now displayed in my living-room, part of it is visible here: http://bagofpretty.blogspot.com/2011/10/yellow-stinking-story.html

What do you do with all the art projects your child creates?

My older son is only 3, so most of his art is still very abstract, which also is very, very cool. I have these displayed all over the place. There are, of course, every day projects, and special projects. For every day projects we have clips above his table in the kitchen. This is always updated with the most recent projects. I do have some of his works framed, or digitalized, like eg. his first ever portrait of me (http://bagofpretty.blogspot.com/2011/10/printable-and-kids-art-in-one.html) I give him canvases to paint on, which makes a pretty cool present for grandma when you need it:) I also save his scriblings that are not as nice to display to be incorporated in future projects. For example, Xmas tree in this photo: http://www.bagofpretty.blogspot.com/2011/12/last-minute-xmas-post-about-last-minute.html was made from parts of P's water color painting which he decided to cut to pieces. He can be destructive that way sometimes, but I use that to my advantage.
