They have to learn that you have to work to make money, so they do not get an allowance. If they do the chores on their chore chart they do get paid for their work. Some things are expected as a part of living at our house and being in the family, but I give them chances to earn up to about $5 or $6 a week. They honestly make about $3 most weeks, but when they're motivated and saving for a certain item, they're more likely to do more chores and ask for ways to earn money.

What's an easy way moms can trim their family food budget?

Use coupons while looking at matchups. A sale with a coupon is the best way to get a huge discount. We shop at Sam's club for many of the things we eat weekly because buying in bulk makes sense if it's something that we have as a staple in the house. I will admit eating healthier seems to cost more money - but in the long run it should be worth it for your health!
