What advice would you give to moms who are struggling with PPD?
Don't be ashamed to ask for help. Not just asking for help for your mental health but for everything. It's so hard sometimes to say look I need you to do ____ especially to a spouse but sometimes getting help on those little everyday things frees up the mental space you need to take care of yourself. Surround yourself with love and support. If someone "doesn't get it" or is emotionally draining you, you need to get them out of your life, at least temporarily so you can focus on you and your family.
When you're struggling with a physical or mental illness, how do you keep up with all the demands of motherhood?
Try to give myself grace and time. Ask for help (see above) prioritize. I have more then one child so top priority is making sure the kids are taken care of. If feeding them and keeping them happy is all I can accomplish in a day then it's all I can accomplish. The world will not stop spinning if my house is messy or I don't answer that email.
What's a mood booster that helps you get through a bad day?
Yoga. Prayer. Quiet. Unless I want music, then bad pop music played really really loud.
