The Best Part of Living in Southern California

Everything! It is hard to pick the best part because I truly love everything about living and raising a family in Southern California. The beautiful weather, beaches, mountains, bays, museums, kid-friendly entertainment, nature hikes…everything! Living in Orange County specifically, I especially love that we are centrally located only a short drive away from other amazing Southern California cities. From breathtaking Santa Barbara, to the culturally rich Los Angeles, to fun San Diego destinations like Sea World and the San Diego Zoo, we truly live close to places where people travel long distances to take their families.

My Favorite Local Kid-Friendly Activity

By far our favorite activity to do with our kids is spend a day at the beach. There is nothing like watching little ones light up with joy as they explore the sand and run in the waves. I also love that the beach provides us with hours and hours of entertainment without having to spend a dime!

The Biggest Challenge of Raising a Child Here

In Orange County, we are exposed daily to the material possessions and influences that come with living close to affluent areas, so my number one challenge in raising my two young girls will be to keep them grounded. I hope to teach them to recognize and appreciate those material things for what they are but realize that the true value that lies within each of us does not come from anything that can be bought. As a mom, it is my goal to help my girls develop positive self-esteem based on their intelligence, talents and the people they are on the inside instead of basing it on the kind of car they drive or the type of clothes they wear.
