The Mental Health Issues I Blog About
I am a mom with depression and anxiety who is married to a mentally abusive husband. When the voting was going on I found out he was cheating on me so I have now added going through a divorce to my blog topics. I also have a child with asperger's syndrome. Having to deal with his challenges while dealing with my own keeps us all on our toes. Amongst all this I weave everyday occurrences into my blog. Somedays I don't know how I get through it all, other days I manage quite well.
My Mental Wellness Tip for Moms
Take some time everyday to be you. If it helps to be alone then make it happen. If you need to be with people then find people to be with. It is only when we are allowed to be who we are that we can truly blossom. The more that I reclaim who I was and went to be again, the better my days are. Even on my bad days if I can do something to remind myself who I am they seem to be better.
Mental Wellness Resources for Moms
I am in a few online Mommy Groups. We all support each other when we need it. It could be because their child discovered that scissors cut hair or it can be my husband cheated on me. I don't know how I would have gotten through the last few years without them. Blogging has also been a big help for me. The act of writing down what is going on and getting my feelings out has been a therapeutic outlet. Once I started to open up with what I was feeling and not hiding it anymore I found the strength to start doing things to improve myself and my life. I also see a psychologist once a month. He helps me understand that just because I have depression and anxiety that doesn't mean that I should be afraid to stand up for myself and take back my life. It was him that opened my eyes to the abuse I was enduring in my marriage and has been instrumental in helping me get out of my marriage.
