The Best Part of Living in the San Francisco Bay Area
San Francisco is the first city I ever fell in love with and I'm pretty sure the love is mutual. I moved to SF in 1992 and the second I got here, I knew I was home. I felt embraced, accepted, and celebrated. San Francisco is a dynamic city that thrives on diversity. Our differences are what make us interesting and I think my beautiful city by the Bay understands this fundamental truth. We can be different in culture, beliefs, sexual orientation, you name it, and still respect and learn from each other.
My Favorite Kid-friendly Activity in the Bay Area
My family and I adore our public libraries. My eldest, Put Pie, enjoys checking out videos and books, going to story time, or just hanging out in the kids' section. We have been lucky to witness the renovation of many of our local libraries and feel truly lucky to be able to have a place that is a priceless free family-friendly resource.
Some Say It's Hard to Raise a Child in the Bay Area...
I'd say it's hard to raise a kid anywhere. It is my understanding that kids poop, pee, and get sick no matter where you raise them. If you know of a place where I can avoid having poop or puke stains on my clothes and I will be guaranteed a daily shower, please let me know because I will pack up and move right now. Until then, I happen to be raising my kids in the Bay Area and it works for me and my family. No matter where you live there are pros and cons. I'm liking the pros in the Bay Area and working around the cons.
