The Best Part of Living in Southern California
I love Southern California's diverse terrain. We live near the beach, but we can drive an hour and be in the desert or just a little further and find ourselves in snowy mountains. We're never at a loss for fun outdoor activities in any season. We can surf, snowboard, go apple-picking in an orchard, ride a horse on farmland, tour a vineyard, go mountain biking or rock climbing...the options here are truly endless!

Balboa Park has a "Residents Free Tuesdays" program that offers free admission to select museums for residents on a rotating basis each Tuesday of the month. My family regularly takes advantage of this to get out and experience some awesome cultural experiences for absolutely no cost.
The Biggest Challenge of Raising a Child Here
Having to drive everywhere. Southern Californians spend a lot of time in their cars because everything here is so spread out. There's hardly anything within walking distance of our apartment, so our family spends a lot of time on the go and it can be a challenge to plan ahead and get everyone's stuff packed up.
