My Favorite Grade to Teach

My favorite grade to teach is Kindergarten. I love to see the growth of the children when the enter in August and then finish in June. There is a magic in teaching Kindergarten. I am able to shape their future and help build strong foundations and a love of learning for years to come.

How Being a Teacher Has Helped Me as a Parent

Being a teacher has helped me see how children can struggle in school and how important it is to begin the learning process at home. I learned that reading to my children from the time they are born is one of the most important things I can do. I see how important it is for children to be able to build on what they have learned from year to year. It is my job as a parent to make sure they understand what they are learning in school. I also think being a parent has helped me become a better teacher because I understand the stress that parents have working all day and taking their children to sports after school. I try to help my parents by giving them ample notice of assignments and homework so they can fit it into their lifestyles.

The #1 Way Parents Can Help Their Kids Succeed in School

Read, read, read to your children. Ask them questions about their day. Have family dinners and talk with your children about their friends. A parent needs to build trust at an early age with their children and let them know it is okay to make mistakes and to use those mistakes to learn from in the future. Always be positive and encourage your children to do the best they can do each and everyday. Take pride in their work. Remind them everyday that they are special.
