One Of The Funniest Experiences I've Had Traveling With Kids

We've traipsed all over with our little ones, but one of the funniest memories is of my son when we visited Walt Disney World. At only 20mos he was a big fan of Cinderella. In the Rose Garden he tried to plant one on her with his face covered in drool and his nose running. He screamed with delight when we had the Cinderella character meal at 1900 Park Fare. Who would have thought our Cars-crazed toddler would be more excited than his big sister to see a princess?! Other highlights include making friends with everyone wherever we go. And, dancing. There is always lots of dancing whenever we go away!

A Piece Of Travel Advice For Moms

Don't overschedule your days. Don't begrudge the kids' naps, and use that time to rest yourself — you're on vacation! I understand the temptation to try to cram as much in to a trip as possible, but you'll all be much happier if you pace yourselves and make a point of scheduling in downtime. If I fear I'm missing out on something that's typically a "must-see," I try to look at it as a good reason to return one day.

Where I'd Go If I Could Take My Kids Anywhere In The World

I can't wait until we can go to Costa Rica as a family. We're waiting until my son is old enough to zipline - probably in about 4 or 5 years. This will be a trip of a lifetime, with several stops to explore the rainforest, as well as many beach stops as well. I can't wait for my kids to see monkeys and other wildlife that are in their natural habitat — not in a zoo! When they're much older, one day will all hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.
