It's a biological fact that decorating goes hand in hand with motherhood. Even after the initial urge to nest subsides (in which you transform a neglected nook in your home into an adorable nursery using only spackle, sweat, and a hand-me-down crib), your children's constant growth dictates periodic re-dos of the space you share as a family.

Out goes the crib, in comes a twin bed...no more room for the home office that was hiding in the nursery...cleverly recreate it in a hallway closet...add twins to the family, get a bigger kitchen table...ready to get rid of the kids' play table...refinish it as a new end table for the porch…

And so on, all the way up to the day your no-longer little one leaves home, and you finally get that nook back and transform it into something else entirely: a craft room maybe?

What inspired you to start blogging?

Although this is my first stab at writing for anyone’s eyes but my own, I think it is in my blood. My grandfather, grandmother, great-grandparents and uncles were all writers or involved in publishing. I love anything related to color, design,and children. What a combination!

I needed an outlet for the creative side of my personality, and thus, I found blogging. I am in heaven! I am just hoping that my ideas and thoughts about children, design and life will inspire others to get in touch with their creative side.

What are three distinctive features of your blog?

I’m young, have young children and I write about that, plus art, design, and gossip about design.
You can read my blog and have an instant idea of chic in the now, and whatever your budget, find an idea.
My husband and girls come first, but I still can find the chicest place to have a pomegranate martini, and although my blog is new, I have plans to include fun places in Atlanta and other cities that I visit as well as offer designer fabric finds and vintage pieces that have been given a new lease on life!

What inspired you to start blogging?

I started blogging to document the journey of fixing up our kitchen. It kept me focused on updating our home and documenting our makeovers. It has since become so much more than a blog for me and given the chance to meet so many like-minded people.
