1. Mom Goes Green by Doreen Kukral |
What inspired you to start blogging? I felt like I had a mountain of great information stored up in my own head, but if I didn't share that information, it went no further than my own home. My husband suggested blogging. He said "You can do this and I'll help you get started". He did exactly that and, nearly three years ago, Mom Goes Green was born! My husband and my kids continue to motivate and inspire me, and they love that their mom is "Mom Goes Green" and helping other moms protect their families and the environment. What are 3 things you can teach other moms to make their lives more eco-friendly?
Where is your favorite place to shop for eco-friendly products? It would be impossible for me to choose just one favorite place to shop. Over time, I have learned where to find everything I need, and I especially support buying local. But sometimes, intensive shopping isn't even required. With cleaning products, for example... two of the best products for cleaning your entire home are distilled white vinegar and baking soda! To me it's more about taking action to make smart choices, and essentially consuming less. But, when you do shop, simply be wise about what you are buying. What are your three favorite posts? |
2.Groovy Green Livin' by Lori Popkewitz Alper |
What inspired you to start blogging? After practicing law for many years, I realized that I had outgrown the fast paced and stressful lifestyle. It was time for a change. I slowly shifted my focus towards a creating a green and clean lifestyle and began to educate myself about chemicals and other toxins that were going into and on my body. I was amazed at what I found as I continued to dig. A few years later, two of our children developed life threatening food allergies. My commitment to living as toxin-free as possible became even stronger as a way to gain some control over their allergies. Blogging offered a venue to share information and connect with others interested in a green lifestyle. When my youngest went off to Kindergarten I decided to trade in my suits and focus on writing and consulting. I was inspired and continue to be inspired by the incredible community of like-minded people I have found. Blogging has provided me with a space to find a voice that I didn’t know I had and an opportunity to stand beside many remarkable people who are making a difference. What inspired you to start blogging? I was always 'green' without even knowing I was 'green' because that's how my mom raised us. But when I opened a shop on Etsy to sell some of my eco-friendly creations, I learned that I needed to blog to market my shop. Where is your favorite place to shop for eco-friendly products? I am the captain of a team on Etsy called Eco Etsy. The members are uber talented and creative while being eco-friendly. I know that whatever I buy from the team members, they will be eco-friendly. I don't even have to ask or wonder if they are green and I can find anything I need from them. And because of this reason, our website will be added to Sprint's Android devices on a new app called, "Green ID Pack", and also on their new eco-friendly phone called Replenish.
