Why I Started Blogging I needed a hobby. How Does Faith Inspire How You Raise Your Children It completely envelopes how I raise them. My God is radical and completely counter-cultural, and His teachings are wild — I want my babes to know Him and His magnificent grace. I want my children to love others, even when they're wronged. I want them to care about those who are broken, and esteem those who are low. I want them to have an eternal focus on this short, grand, difficult, beautiful life. I want them to be servants and lovers — to God and to people. Three favorite posts |

18Ministry to Motherhood by Becky |
Why I Started Blogging In November 2010, began blogging as a newly ‘retired’ minister. I had recently left my job after a year of maternity leave because I didn’t feel I could give to my congregation in the way that they needed. My son had been born with a Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia and while he was doing well, he did require some extra care in terms of attention and focus to ensure he kept on doing well. I had to be home. I had to be a Mom. I needed to take care of my family. That decision (made with lots of prayer) was a difficult one. I began to blog as a way to express myself and maintain my identity as a Minister during a time of great change in my life. I’m happy to have a place on the internet to share my faith, my food and my family adventures with friends new and old. How Does Faith Inspire How You Raise Your Children I’ve been so blessed in my life in so many ways. I want my son to experience the great love that God gives and to know that so many things are possible in faith, with a little determination and some help from friends. Even at his young age I encourage him to know God by reading and sharing Bible stories, singing songs and expressing my faith daily in our life together. I want him to know that God is there. I want it to be something that is a part of him, growing and organic as he moves through life. Three favorite posts |
