What inspired you to start blogging?

My daughter! My friend introduced me to blogging, but when it came down to deciding on content, it was my little girl Sasha that inspired me to write about her life, her style and all the things I would love to get her.

How do you keep up with the latest kids' fashions and being a mom?

The internet is a busy mom's best friend! Whenever I have a second during the day, I am always on my laptop browsing through the new arrivals in my favorite online boutiques and reading various kids style blogs and magazines.  

What are three things parents should think about when styling their kids?

1. The first and the most important thing for me is comfort! As much as I love to see a tiny baby in couture, I think babies belong in onesies and swaddle blankets. Kids are free spirited and their clothes should reflect that freedom. They should be able to run around and play in their clothes without any inhibition. Sadly, often the most beautiful pieces are the least wearable and parents sacrifice comfort for style.  
2. Clothes should fit the child's personality. Often parents don't stress individuality when dressing their children. Parent's want their kids to wear what the parents feel is appropriate or stylish without regard to whether the clothes actually reflect their kids' personalities. I have seen many unhappy little girls in frilly girly dresses at the playground. Little girls that obviously would rather wear a pair of jeans instead. Often parents don't offer choices to children who can make up their own minds. I like to think of style as a personal journey which begins at an early age. It's an opportunity for a child to express themselves no matter how silly or ridiculous the choices may appear to be.
3. Parents should have fun when dressing their kids! Try different prints and textures. Mix together unexpected pieces. Add on an homemade accessory. Play dress up!

What inspired you to start blogging?

I have always loved trawling through websites looking for what is new and fabulous. I could spend hours flicking and searching. I love children’s fashion. Designers can take such a broad range of direction when creating garments for children. Their designs are really only limited by their imagination and of course the wearability for a child. I get much more pleasure shopping for my son than myself. I have always gone shopping for, and dressed him first. When the opportunity arose to purchase Kids Fashion Review, I jumped at the chance! It was a way I could combine my love of fashion with my obsession for researching and share my finds with others.

How do you keep up with the latest kids' fashions and being a mom?

The Internet for sure! Being a mum of a toddler is hard work, especially when out shopping. The Internet it the perfect tool -- shopping and researching 24 hours a day!

What are three things parents should think about when styling their kids?

1. Think outside of the square and don’t always stick to the ‘rules’. Children have the ability to pull of many looks from casual to quirky -- mix it up and have a bit of fun!
2. Classic never goes out of style, ensure you have a few classic pieces in you wardrobe. For example a double breasted woolen coat is a must have for any winter closet, it is practical and will add a little tailored chic to a basic outfit.
3. Make sure they are comfortable! There is no point having the funkiest little monkey at the party if they start removing items of clothing two minutes after you arrive.

What inspired you to start blogging?

I decided to sell my business (fashion showroom for womens RTW) to focus on being a mom full-time and as rewarding as it is, I still needed something for myself -- some kind of creative outlet for me. I was inspired by the incredible energy of the city. I wanted to be a resource for moms looking for lifestyle tips and advice for their kids, themselves and the whole family. I wanted to take the idea of friends buzzing about life, love and luxury a la Sex and the City and center it on the family..

How do you keep up with the latest kids' fashions and being a mom?

“Naptime” helps me get online and research some of my fav websites. Plus recommendations from friends, but ultimately, getting out in the world with my son. NYC is a style center...you have to be in it...absorb it.

What are three things parents should think about when styling their kids?

1. Comfort! The old adage that you have to suffer for style does not apply for kids. If they're uncomfortable, everyone suffers--fashion be damned.
2. Don't just buy "outfits." Be creative but also stock up on wardrobe basics that can all blend in together. When you're in a rush and tending to fussy little ones, the LAST thing you want to do is spend time searching for the matching bottoms to something. Keep it simple.
3. Accessories! Nothing better to dress up an outfit with a fun hat or necklace.

What are your three favorite posts?

1. My ultimate favorite brand as of late is Wovenplay. This post is about their new Spring 2011 collection. 
2. One of the first blog posts I did was on Creative Recreation sneakers. A must have in any little boys wardrobe. Pair these sneaks with a button down, slacks, and cute fedora to eliminate stuffy and boring dress shoes.
3. For staple pieces my go to place is Zara kids. I find this brand to be fashion forward and affordable, which is always a plus!
