What inspired you to start a mom-shop?

After several years of being home with young children I was looking for something to do for myself. It started as a small hobby which grew quickly with people asking if I could make pieces for them. My mom-shop meets all of my needs of having a creative outlet, being home with the kids and making some supplemental income.

What are your three favorite posts?

1. Peace and love painting (I loved doing this project)
2. Youth triathlon team at ironkids (so proud of my husband and his team and my little athletes)
3. The creative retreat (an amazing experience)

What inspired you to start a mom-shop?

I opened my shop back in 2003 after I attended a jewelry party and thought I can do this. I had my first experience with selling jewelry in high school (circa 1995) to make money for Spring Break, so in 2003 I had my first jewelry open house selling beaded jewelry. In 2007, I started making stamped, personalized items and that really helped get my name out and build the business. From the start I wanted to have the business and do it full time, using my creative gift to bless others. The business continues to grow every year and I hope to make that leap in the future.

What are your three most popular items?

1. Pieces in my Heirloom Collection - all charms can be removed and given to your children/grandchildren as the years go on. Items can also be added.

What are three adjectives that describe your mom-shop?

1. Shiny. I struggled to come up with a better word for the items in my shop. All of the items are polished to a shine and the crystals that are added (like the briolettes) add even more shine. 
2. Affordable. I have charms for as little as $4 with stamped charms starting at $5 so I really have something for every budget.
3. Customer service. I care SO MUCH about customer service and customer satisfaction. I know that my business has grown simply because of referrals so I try to make every customer feel valued.

3. WIWW April 20th. Every once in a while I post a 'What I Wore Wednesday' and link it up to the Pleated Poppy. It's fun to see some of my favorite outfits and how my style changes with a few basic items.

What inspired you to start a mom-shop?

I started my mom-shop because up until last year, I worked for the federal government and then the best thing happened: My husband got the opportunity to transfer with his company, allowing me to quit (yay), and moving close to the beach (double yay)!

Now I'm a full-time Mom, but wait...my kids are both in school...whatever shall I do? Well, I listened to my hubs and dove head first into expanding my little jewelry business. I've been making and selling jewelry since 2006 after taking a basic earring class. That first little class was all it took to realize what I loved doing. So I'm officially on Etsy and Facebook now selling away. I am so happy!
