What inspired you to start blogging?

It was actually my mom's idea. It was 2005 and I had just moved to New York City and I had so many stories to tell. The more I blogged, the more I realized what an influence for good it was in my life. When we moved to Idaho the next year I needed something to keep my spirits up (I was working a miserable 9-5 job), so I decided to use my blog as a place to record the small and lovely and silly things about my day that I wanted to remember most. In that way, I blog to create the life that I want -- a life of beauty and positivity and wonder.

How do you keep up with the latest fashions and being a mom?

To me the two come very easily. Being a mom isn't about sacrificing yourself to the point where you no longer exist. One of the most important things I can do as a mom is be an example to my kids, and the example I want to set is that attention to detail, emphasis on style, and a strong regard for how you present yourself is important in life. Plus, to me fashion is a great outlet for creativity, and creativity is something I plan to nurture in my children as well.

What are three fashion tips for busy moms?

1. Take the time to do whatever it is you need to do to feel put together every day, even if you're probably not going to leave the house.
2. Embrace the body you have now. Especially when our babies are young, it seems our bodies are constantly shrinking and stretching in weird ways. Don't wait for your body to look "perfect" before giving it the respect it deserves. Look at what all you've done! Cherish that body! 
3. Form over function, baby! Who cares if you're going to get dirt on that cute top? Wear it anyway. Life is too short for sweats.

What inspired you to start blogging?

I started blogging because my husband and I moved to Hawaii. We were a very long way from our family, so I started a blog to keep in touch and share pictures. When we eventually moved back to the Northeast, I just kept it up. I started sharing more fashion, cooking and art as well as things about our life. Over the last 5 years it has evolved into what it is today. As my life changes so does my blog. I love that I can now share my life as being a new mom as well as my love for fashion. 

How do you keep up with the latest fashions and being a mom?

Being part of such a supportive and inspiring community keeps me inspired. There are so many great fashion bloggers, as well as Mom fashion bloggers that daily give me inspiration. Being a mom has helped me understand my personal style better. I am more confident and am quicker to take risks and get creative with my fashion choices.

What are three fashion tips for busy moms?

1. Accessories! Any simple outfit can be jazzed up with a few accessories.
2. Stay true to who you are. Just because you became a mom doesn't mean you are destined to sweats and tee shirts. Things change but don't let yourself fall into the trap of feeling like you can't get dressed up and feel good about yourself.
3. Comfy, but stylish shoes. My go-to shoes are a pair of black ballet flats. They look super cute with a pair of skinny jeans or with skirts and dresses.

1. I love the polka dots and color combo of this outfit
2. This outfit is so easy going but I felt super chic
3. It's fun to dress up every once in awhile. Every Mom needs a good black dress.

What inspired you to start blogging?

This lil' blog started because Collin was watching a Yankees playoff game on television and I was bored. Ok, really, I wanted to have a place to share creative projects, pictures of my darling munchkins and extraodinary thoughts about our ordinary days.
