What inspired you to start blogging?

When a lot of my friends suddenly started getting engaged & married back around 2003/2004, I always signed up to host or help with the the bridal showers and bachelorette parties and LOVED it. I didn't like most of the themes and party products that were most prevalent/typical back then (hearts and doves and wedding rings), so I started coming up with my own themes that were a little more playful and tailored to the guest of honor. I started to get a lot of calls and emails from guests after the parties, asking where I found this or how I made that. I was a graphic and web designer by day already, so I realized that if I just put everything online, I could easily direct people where to go to find ALL the answers regarding each party theme in one easy spot.

What are three distinctive features of your blog?

1. It's really all about the inspiring imagery. I try to provide a ton of visuals within each post so that people can get a great feel for the party at first glance, then dig into the detailed info if they want.
2. I try to feature a wide range of party themes... and love to work in some outside-the-box themes like Vintage Game themed cocktail parties or Kite-Inspired Weddings along with the traditional favorites like Superhero birthday parties and darling Bird-themed Baby Showers.
3. I often feature free party printables that readers can download and use in their own parties... everything from party signage to napkin rings to bottle wraps. It’s such a great feeling when readers send photos in that show the free downloads in use!

What is your favorite part of planning parties?

My favorite part is definitely brainstorming unique ways to bring the chosen party theme to life, so I guess you could call it the design phase. I'm a big believer in details and love dreaming up ideas for themed centerpieces, stationery, food presentation, photo booth props, food flags, glass garnishes, etc... and then seeing it all come together!

What inspired you to start blogging?

It was a creative outlet for me. I started my blog for fun...I wanted a place to post all the different parties I planned/styled.

1. I have a daily party feature (a daily party contest if you will) where I showcase different amazing parties each & every day.
2. My blog is a place where you can get a ton of party ideas without having to search all over the web. It's a one-stop spot :].
3. I have a party category list (a very long one that keeps growing) that makes it easy to search different party themes.

Details, details, details! I just love every little detail. I want everything to be perfect, no matter how small or large. I also love a challenging party theme. I love searching high & low for party elements, decor & more.

What inspired you to start blogging?

After leaving my career in real estate to stay home with my two little ones (Tommy & Kate = TomKat), I decided to start a blog to showcase decorating, parties and crafts that I was creating.

What are three distinctive features of your blog?

1. I love sharing the projects that I am working on. Most of my posts are styling projects, photo shoots and tutorials that I create myself.
2. We love featuring fabulous parties from our customers and readers. We love showing off how creative our readers are.
3. Our weekly scheduled Fabulous Friday Giveaways are very popular! Right now, we are working with Pottery Barn Kids and the giveaway has attracted over 4,000 entries so far.

What is your favorite part of planning parties?

I love the styling aspect of parties, particularly for photo shoots. Also, creating a new printable collection for each theme is always fun.
