What inspired you to start blogging?

Once I launched this business about 6 months ago, I looked for as many outlets to reach people and blogging just seemed to be the next natural step. Trust me, it is a constant learning process about what works and what doesn't, but I feel like I am getting there. I always stay open to learning new ways and techniques on how to make my blog better for the people that choose to read it.

What are three distinctive features of your blog?

1. I feel like I write in a way that lets my personality come through. I want people who read my blog to feel like I am having a sit-down conversation with them. I want to connect with my readers on a relatable level and I hope they feel that way.
2. Another thing that makes it distinctive is the fact that I always try to show my readers how to save money. I explain the process I know or the way I did something to give them ways to save money.
3. Interaction is another feature that I offer to my readers. I try to have giveaways for them when I believe I have something relevant to offer them, offer them discounts on my printables line that they find out about first, by subscribing to my blog, and I am always asking them what they want to see.

What is your favorite part of planning parties?

My favorite part of planning parties is brainstorming with a client. I LOVE working with a new client and coming up with ideas that they may have never thought of to make their parties unique. My motto is "if you can imagine it . . we can create it", so NOTHING is off-limits. I like to stay up on current trends and try new things so what I am offering is fresh in the market. Customizing is another favorite of mine - making a party custom for a client that isn't mass-marketed is key to having a one-of-a-kind party.

1. Halloween GLAM "Shock-tail" Party- (it was my 1st "official party as a business)

What inspired you to start blogging?

I went to a National Event Planning conference in 2009 and went to a class about social media. I had recently opened my children's event planning company and had never heard of blogging. The conference was in January 2009 and I finally took the plunge of my own blog in August 2009. I have such a passion for parties and creating memories and love blogging about things that inspire me.

What are three distinctive features of your blog?

1. I am a crafter and love to show craft projects that can be used for entertaining and parties.
2. I am a mom and frugalista so my blog shows tons of frugal ways to have extraordinary parties. I shop at Dollar stores and bins, thrift stores and yard sales and transform items into chic party decor.
3. My blog showcases DIY and affordable parties that the average person can achieve. Although I love looking at "magazine" style parties, I appreciate the moms who stay up at night crafting and creating things for their kids' parties. I love homemade and things made with love.

What is your favorite part of planning parties?

My favorite part of planning parties is actually creating things to go with my theme that I have never seen before or creating something that I have seen, but was way out of budget and I make for a fraction of the cost.

1. My daughter's recent tea party called Tea and Twirlies.
2. Madison's Happy Owl-O-Ween party.

What inspired you to start blogging?

We were inspired to start blogging initially after reading some of the other wonderful blogs out there. We wanted to share the fabulous parties we have been putting together for our clients, as well as what is inspiring us, with others.

What are three distinctive features of your blog?

1. We are an Australian blog run by two mums, with three small children between us. We are inspired by our love of all things stylish and child related, which we hope shows through to our readers.
2. We have a focus on handmade unique events; sharing our own and also highlighting the fabulous work of others.
3. We do almost all the baking, hand crafting, styling and designing for our events, ourselves. With both of us bringing different talents to the company, we work well to balance each other and provide the best outcome for our clients and our readers.

What is your favorite part of planning parties?

We love putting together an event that not only makes the parents say 'wow', but that the kids love!
