What Inspired Me to Start Blogging I decided to begin blogging to help spread awareness about the pregnancy disease hyperemesis gravidarum (HG), a devastating and extreme form of morning sickness. So often, it goes untreated and unacknowledged by doctors with disastrous and sometimes deadly consequences. I wanted to spread the message to other suffering women that they are not alone and that treatment is available. I also knew that my illness would be tightly managed and I wanted to illustrate to other suffering women the kind of treatment that they should expect and demand. Since I've moved beyond the physical symptoms of the illness, I've been able to branch out and talk about natural parenting, healthy and healing childbirth, and other topics near and dear to my heart. The blog will continue to grow as I grow and change — like me it is a living thing — but the heart of it will always boil down to bringing comfort and healing to women suffering alone with HG. What Inspired Me to Start Blogging One day I woke up and realized there are so many precious moments in life that I want to be able to look back upon and remember many years down the road. After having my first child in 2009, I knew immediately I wanted a medium that I could capture special milestones and memories to share with my family and friends. After thinking about it for some time, I chose blogging. Now, I enjoy writing about daily events, whether seemingly big or small. I'm now proud to have a virtual memory book my children can one day look back on to learn about their childhood and everything they encountered along the way.
