Do you have some space for yourself to create, how do you create, where, when???

Could you make it into a business?

FYI, if you become freelance you can add it to your hours for tax credits, useful if you are just under the 30 hour threshold. Obviously, you will need to be in business, but it needn't be a massive corporation. Worth looking at. Over 30 hour componant about £500 per year on tax credits. (applies to UK only).

Hello. I use to paint on my easel with acrylics and oils. Then the babies started coming along and now my "canvas" is the computer. A good digital camera and a photo editing program help keep my creative side happy. I also volunteer to do creative projects at our church which can almost "take over" my time with the kids. It's definitely a balance but now that they're getting older I enjoy watching them be creative too.

I am a quilter. I have a desk set up with my sewing machine on it and a small table next to it with my cutting board. All of this is in the basement next to the computer and in the girls' playroom. My husband also has all of his guitars and equipment in this room. It definitely is a multi-purpose room!! My cutting board often gets covered by toys, bills, work, etc.
I usually work on my quilting in the evenings after the girls are in bed. Sometimes I get together with some friends and work on a project, or when we go to my mom's I get to work on stuff while my husband and dad play with the girls. I seem to get a little more time as the girls get older. I do let them help from time to time; if I am picking some fabric for a project for them, I let them play in the fabric or come to the store and tell me what they like! I think it is important for them to see us being creative!!

I'm afraid that I use every space I ge away with. when our kids started moving out I started taking over their rooms (except for one). I likto try any craft at least once, to see if I like it. I really like working with paper -making albums, cards, anything "papery".I want to see if I can make a business out of it, but it's going slow at the moment. I live just outside Durban, South Africa.

Yes, I have an office to do the business aspect of crafting. It has a closet of art supplies. My fabric, wool, paper for window stars, and felt is in different areas in my office as well as (and this isn't ideal, but due to space constraints) in the master bedroom.

I create in the morning as well as in the evening - times when my daughters are asleep.

I have made my crafting into a business. It's called Harvest Moon by Hand. You can see what I make at http://www.harvestmoonbyhand.etsy.com.

Hi , my 'space' is a small desk in the lounge with the computer on it, the dining table sometimes and a tray on my lap! lol I know its tricky. We have the holidays now so even less time. I'm getting into some photography now (particularly landscapes) and got my daughter one of those disposable cameras to keep her happy too.

hi, i enjoy several different createive hobbies, inclueding crochette, pencil portriaits ( not that great, lol) and most recently cake and cookie decorating and sculpting. i have no place of my own to work on everything and anytime i try to pull something out to work on, my kids want to "help" . i try to give them little projects to work on , but i spend more time helping them then i do on my own thing. when my husband is home he is pretty good about taking them out so i can get things done, but because of his job, thats not very often. does anyone else have problems like these? what are everyones creative intrests?
