    Yes! and I do not care what people say they are OK! They all had them till they were around 2 1/2 or so and one day they just forgot them! I found a binkie just last summer in our '75 Dodge dart jocky box! Boy was it baked! but it must have been where one left theirs for safekeeping and forgot! Those things are a comfort zone thing! Now I will let a secret out to all- when I am tired i still suck my thumb! Me parents never broke me of that comfort thing AND MY TEETH are beautiful! mater of fact I think if my husband sucked a pacifier or sucked his thumb he wouldn't snore so much! for some reason my tongue stays depressed to the roof of my mouth instead of falling to the back of my throat gagging!!

    up until 8 weeks no, than we hit a very hard patch where niether her nor i where sleeping and the dummy seemed to settle her enough for both of us to get some sleep

    Yes it was recommened to us by the nurses and doctors, it was a comfort thing more and helped with her suckingfor when she got bigger.

    Same as Trisha, she needed to so that she learnt to suck for food. Now she is a take it or leave it baby. Sometimeds she will take the dummy, other times it just gets flung across the room.

    my first didn't. I swore I'd never use one but my new baby started one at 5 months. Usually just to keep her sleeping after she's done nursing or if we are out and about and she's getting a little fussy. (I still don't like them lol)

    Michael didn't take one until he was 15 months. Now, he still occasionally takes one at naptime or bedtime, but it's getting less and less. I've got other battles to fight! Jonathan doesn't take a pacifier.

    Ella wasn't given a dummy until we got home from hospital. She gave it up at 10 months on her own. Kristin has been sucking on anything she could get her mouth on since she was born and I think she'll be harder to wean.
