How did your family react towards you being pregnant?

my moms side was very happy but my dad wasnt so thrilled :S he wanted me to finish university first but with my university on strike, me not too sure if i could have kids and the opportunity to go to college so i would still get a good job, i knew it was all meant to be :) it wasnt as planned out as my dad had hoped for me but i was overjoyed to become a mom- its all i ever wanted!

Everyone was happy...except it took a little time for my grandfather to get used to the idea, only because he was worried about our money situation. That was always his way of thinking. Overall, everyone was overjoyed!

THEY WERE SUPER SHOCKED. MY FAMILY COULDNT BELIEVE IT. THEY THOUGHT THAT I WAS A TOM-BOY. THATS WHY THEY BOUGHT ME ALL THESE GIRLY CLOTHES EVERY TIME I CAME AROUND, OR WHEN THEY CAME TO VISIT- VISE-VERSA.

#1: I didn't tell them for 5 months! When I did, they were mostly excited but a little disappointed in me. :( #2: Everyone was surprised. It was only 10 months after my first was born, and we weren't trying for another. #3: I was surprised by the amount of condescending "are you on birth control?" and "You're gonna get your tubes tied, aren't you?" questions.

My Husband, Mum, Dad, Stepmother all cried, they were so happy. (Then my Mum got really overprotective of me!!) My Grandfather got very emotional and according to my Dad started to dance on the spot (I told him on the phone). Everyone else was overjoyed for us. It was wonderful news to alot of people.

Most were excited. Only one who wasn't was the same one who ragged on us for getting married so young. Some people are ready to marry young. Then the same person had the guts to tell us we should have waited at least 2 years to make sure the marriage would work! hubby and I have always believed that divorce should only be an option for severe cases, adultery, abuse, severe neglect, abandonment. And since we both believe this we were careful to make sure that marrying was the right thing for us. It was, and still is almost 5 years later.

With Brooklyn it wasnt much of shock except for my dad, I dont think he was ready to be a grandpa but as soon as he saw that first ultra sound he was excited and with Cameron My family already knew before I did...lol
