How long were you in labour for and what pain relief did you have?

    Louisa - 23 hours had epidual which didnt work so just had gas and air. Scott was about 18 hours but after 2 epidurals and a spinal block we were both very poorly so went for a life saving c-section and I wasnt awake for Scott being born, Darren wasnt allowed in the theatre either!

    I went in to be induced 27th Feb at 7pm, waters broke 28th feb at 13:30 and Libby arrived 1st March at 2:28pm. I had two puffs of gas and air decided I didnt like it, and eventually they told me I had to have an epidural. Active labour was 4 hrs 35 mins.

It got worse after that, went back at 8pm and was in labor until 9:04 a.m. when Davey was born. I couldn't have an epidural because of a bulging disk in my back. They gave me IV pain meds but it didn't really seem to help.

    Khloe was about 7 hours gas and pethedine and Cooper was to fast so NOTHING!!!! Hurt more than I care to remember and Wes was ready to rip the midwife a new one for not explaining things and asking stupid questions.

    Started on friday the 7th at night then had it all day on the saturday apart from the odd 10 mins as it started 7 weeks early as i had a bleed on behind the placenta which caused me to have a early labour but as my body knew it wasnt time it was stopping and starting so i thought it was fake and was out shopping then just trying to relax at home till bout 11 sat night when went hospital, untill Shay was born sun 8th at 7.56am, i had gas and air as pain relief.

    We had no pain relief for any. Lynsey-2hrs, Travis was born 45 mins after they induced us and Emily was also born 2hrs after I was induced. All were born early at 38, 36 and 38 weeks. They induced the last 2 so they weren't accidently born at home.

    Technically, 27 hours. My water broke (but I didnt know it) at 10am November 30th, but I never had contractions. We went to the hospital at 5pm. Noah was born at 1pm December 1st. I had to be put on Pitocin to start my contractions. Since I was hooked up to the Pitocin, the nurse convinced me to get my epidural right away at 3cm dilated, since I wouldnt be able to move around and practice the childbirthing techniques I learned in class. I LOVED MY EPIDURAL! The birth was so calm, peaceful, and beautiful!

I had an epideral and that didn't work so they gave me three shots of meds that knocked me out so bad that the dr. had to keep saying wake up and push over and over again, i dont remember much of the birth.

At 30 weeks they thought I might go into early labor so I had to be admitted for a few days and get steroids for the baby's lungs and have my contractions monitored but ultimately we scheduled a C section for 35 weeks.... C section because twin A was breech and twin B was transverse and I had a broken rib. 35 weeks because twin A wasn't going to grow anymore- she had IUGR.

    Sariah - 10 hours. Induced with pitocin as my amniotic fluid fell below critical point - epidural after 2 excrutiating hours. Chase - induced with cervical pill - labor came on slowly so it is hard to tell how long it actually was, but got first pill at 10 am and he was born at 8:40 pm. Also had an epidural. Caitie was fast! Pitocin was started at about 8:00 am and she was born at noon. Of course!! Epidural!!! You would be crazy to have a pitocin induced labor and NOT have it!!

    With Jacob 50 long hours, was dosed up on pethidine way too much (which I found out later that it can prolong labor, especially in high amounts like I wasgiven! Thanks guys.....) and gas during the actual birth. With Sami it was roughly 8 or 9 hours, was only really painful in after the waters broke, so roughly the last two hours, got to the hospital with 20 mins to spare til she was born, no pain relief and a much better experience. With Callum roughly the same amount of time and the labour went sort of the same except my waters didn't break until two seconds before he fell out of me! Got to the hospital with roughly half and hour to spare.....actually thought I was doing well and wasn't as far along because my waters hadn't broken, what a joke! Agan no pain relief.
