My labor experience was horrible. I went into the hospital at 9:30pm on a friday night having contractions every 2 min...then i got there i was in so much pain they gave me an epidural..they broke my water the next morning at 8 am..started dialating fast.by 1pm i was dialated to 7 so we were getting all prepared to have a baby but then all of a sudden everything slowed down and stopped..so they gave me pitocin to help with the contractions..that didnt work so they told me if i wanted to get anywhere iw ould have to let my epidural wear off :( so i did and it was very very very painful..then 45 min later they checked me and i was a 9..then they gave me more pain meds...then i stopeed dialating again so they had me let the epidural wear off by then it was 1100 on saturday night...then i felt alot of pressure and the nurse came in and told me it was time to push...puushed for like 2 hours..dont remember much at all because i was so tired because i didnt get any sleep..then finally at 1:14 sunday morning colton decided to come :) luckily..they tried everything to get him to come they tried the vaccuum that did work and then my dr said one more push or were gonna have to get a c section and i was terrified of getting a c section so i pushed as hard as i could and out came my beautiful baby boy!! • Janelle says:
I am super proud of my labor experience... I got to the hospital around 7:45 am and they timed contractions for 20 mins. Then I went into the labor tub for a while until contractions got too intense. I went back to the room and they checked me and I was 8 cm dilated (it was 11 am at this point). They gave me laughing gas to take the edge off the contractions (and that's all the pain relief I used!!) while they got the doctor. I had the urge to push and I was told to wait until the doctor came (she almost missed the delivery). She came and after 10 mins of pushing Easton was born at 11:27 am the same morning that I came in.

  • Kim says:
    i has a c section

  • Victoria says:
    c-section

  • Marcy says:
For the first part of my labor I have it very easy. The nurses always threaten to send me home because they don't believe I am in labor (even tho I am dialating and have contractions). With Ben, after my water broke everything went very, very fast. I had wanted an epidural but the doctor to do it was in surgery. So I had gas. My doctor almost did not make it before Ben was born. My body was pushing him out and no one could stop it. It took about 15 minutes of pushing. With Caleb, I was able to have an epidural and it was wonderful. I had waited as long as possible but I was getting exhausted and things were not progessing as we expected. Not long after that we were pushing. This time my doctor stayed at the hospital because of my history of fast delieveries after my waterbreaks.

I had an epidural with Kenzie but it didn't have time to take the FULL effect since i got it 30 minutes before i had her. ha. But i felt great for 20 minutes ;)

  • Autumn says:
I wanted to go natural, but I ended up getting an epidural. I think it actually helped the labor go along faster because I finally relaxed. when we got the hospital at noon I wasn't even having contractions, so they started me on pitocin- I started contracting at about 1:30, and she was born at 7:24. I pushed for less than 5 minutes.

  • Christine says:

  • Kellie says:

It was not fun. Frankly 36 hours of labor is just not good. I went into labor at 2 am and at 8 in the morning went to St.B. I was only 1 cm so they sent me home. At 2 in the afternoon it got really really bad. It was all in the back and so that really sucked. We went back to StB. at 8 in the evening and then I was 3cm. Woohoo. At midnight I got demoral which took the edge off, at 3 am I got an epidural. The epidural was AMAZING. At 1:23 the following afternoon, I had her. I only pushed 4 times so that was a miracle. They were actually shocked as they thought that I would need a section.

  • miche says:
Zane, horrible 27 hrs!! wasn't dialating so they gave me potosum. after 23 hrs had to take epidural. He was borderline c-sect. 14 and half inch head! Ian, arrived at hospital at 9 they gave me potosum, broke my water at 2 and then had him at 4. Did take epidural then too. Got nervous because wasn't dilating like I should have been but once water broke went fast from there. I know some don't believe in taking anything , but guess what good for them! Didn't effect my kids any.

Oh God....with Landon, I started having contractions (in my back, too.) around 8am on a Friday morning at about 8 minutes apart. I went to the hospital at 1/2 cm. Was sent home. Saturday, they started getting more intense. Went back to the hospital, at 2 cm. They had me walk the halls for an hour, which got me to 3 cm. Lay down for an hour, and I was still stuck at 3 cm. They sent me home. Sunday, I woke up more intense, and started bleeding. Went back to the hospital and I was 6 cm. I got Nubain right away (that stuff is great), and then received an epidural at 8 cm. They had to break my water. Delivered him at 7:58 pm, on Sunday. About 59 hours of labor. With Ava, I woke up about 2am, with contractions 4 minutes apart. We went to the hospital, where I was 2 cm. Got sent home. Layed around all day with inconsistent contractions. I would walk the house for an hour every 2 hours, and my contractions would be 4 minutes apart, and when I layed down they would be 15 min. (doctors say it's false labor when they are inconsistent). About 2am (24 hours later), I got up to go to the bathroom, where I had slight bleeding. I walked the house again, where the contractions remained consistent. I woke my husband up about 330am, and said let's go, when my water broke. His mom arrived (sitter), around 4am. It's a half hour drive to the hospital. When I arrived I was 6cm. I screamed and screamed for some sort of drug; whether it be Nubain or an epidural. My nurse took her time, and was absolutely horrible.By the time she came back in with Nubain, I had the urge to push. Obviously, I went without drugs. But, my doc wasn't there yet, so they kept yelling at me to stop pushing. (yea right) After I delivered her, at 5:38am, my placenta stuck to my uterus, where my doc had to stick her arm all the way in to get it out. It was coming out in chunks. That took about 25 min. In total, 27 hours.

  • Kim says:

  • Jessica says:
Well, I went into the hospital on Wed. december 27th around 8 p.m They got me into my room for the night and used the stuff on my cervix to start the process (I forget what it's called now). Then they gve me Ambien to help me sleep which it didn't then put something in my IV and thatput me out. The next morning they started the Petosin. About an hour after that they came in a broke my water. Then came the epidural....OH GOD!! The most painful thing I have ever been through in my life!! Then I layed there for quite a few hours as contractions started getting closer and closer. At about 3 p.m. thursday i felt the urge to push so we started and weren't getting anywhere. They kept saying they could see his head but everytime I pushed i just gushed out blood. Finally after about and hour and half of not getting anywhere the doctor and I decided it would be best for a C-Section. Well, the epidural ran out and I was screaming fro more as they were putting my anti-embolism stockings on. I am sure the entire hospital heard me. he was stuck in the birth canal and it was the most intense pain!! So we did the Emergancy C-Section and out he came that night.

  • Tanya says:
My labour experience was not the best. I was 2cm dilated when we got tot he hospital and 6 hours later I had my baby. The gave me medication to take the edge off the contractions which was useless. Sitting in a hot shower helped more. Just before I started pushing they gave me gas and air. They stalled so much with the epidural that in the end there wasn't time. I'm still mad about that. I think I only pushed for about 10 minutes in total.

I pushed for over 3 hours. He was face up and usually when that happens they can't be delivered naturally but I had pushed him far enough out that with the help of a vacuum we had a natural delivery. I got a high fever and was vomiting during delivery so his heartrate was up over 200 at one point so he was in NICU at first. The worst part was the epidural which they messed up and had to put in twice. I'm still having a lot of back pain from it.

  • Katie says:
I was in labor for 20 hours. I got an epidural after about 17 hours. I don't care how cool people feel they are for not getting an epidural. I recommend it. After that I actually could relax and enjoy the labor. And guess what my kid is fine.

  • Kerri says:
I was in labor almost 30 hours and lucky me had back labor. Meds took the edge of for about 5 seconds and an epidural did not help me! Lucky she was ready to come out when I was only a 7. Tough work but such an amazing experience!!!!!

  • Katelyn says:
Started out natural until they realized that I have two vaginas. We didn't know this before otherwiseit would have been straight c-sectio. So instead I went through the whole labor process until his had hit when the vaginas are and couldn't come any farther. Then it went into an emergency c-section. So I got to expirece i all. Not fun

  • Bailey says:
Terrible. I had b/p problems and had to be given heart meds and hooked up to all this crap. Finally when my b/p came down the MD tried my epi. stuck me 8 times before I blew up and my b/p bottomed out. All the meds they gave me for my b/p made me so tired. I had a c-section because of late d-cells and no energy after pushing for 2 hours.

  • Rebecca says:

Vincent - You know the saying, "Easy pregnancy, Hard labor"? Well, that was him! I got to the hospital about 530am on the 29th and didnt get any type of pain medicine until 10pm that night. I slept off and on and had the worst contractions the next morning. I didn't get the Epidural until about 315pm the 30th and had him at 418pm. About 35 hours of labor. Giana - I went into the hospital like every other day because of my kidneys and finally one time she was breech so they did C-Section. It wasn't bad at all, I didn't even know what was going on until she was born.

  • Kelly says:

  • Vanessa says:
My labor was HELL! I was in labor for 17 1/2 hours- about 13 hrs without an epidural...which I wasn't SUPPOSED to get cause I only dialated to 2 or 3 on my own. Thankfully it didn't take long to relax me and it was fine afterwards- minue the complications following!

  • Heather says:
My labor was not natural. I had pitocin because I was only dialated 2cm after my water breaking the night before. I than met my new best friend who gave me an epi :)

  • Amy says:
Went in they broke my water (Ouch Babe). I never progressed on my own so I was on a Pitocin drip. Well that didn't work so well either since I was stuck at 6 CM for about 8 hrs. I then requested an epidural and finally they ordered a C-Section.

  • Katelyn says:
Started contractions around 9:30 pm and had her after two epidurals at 8:15 pm.

  • Anonymous says:
Not at all what I expected! I had contractions that morning but they sent me home and told me I was in early labor. Stayed at home all day with contractions and at 6 that night my water broke. Got to the hospital and in my room at 7:00. I asked for the epidural and got it at 8:10 but, it never had time to kick in...Brady was born at 8:27! I was in labor for 16 hours but only the last 2 and 1/12 were the worst.

  • Jessica says:
With Adam it was natural with an epidural that all worked wonderfully. I was in labor with him for closeto 9 hours after arriving at the hospital. • Nickie says:
The entire experience was natural. I did not have any type of pain meds or an epidural. They did have to break my water after 6 hours of labor to get things moving along or else I would have to go home...NO WAY! In labor 12 hours. The entire experience was amazing and would do it again in a heart beat!

  • Cera says:

  • Nichole says:
It was very rough, I had pain meds before I was even 2 centimeters, I have epidural also. I was in labor for 14 hours.

  • Anonymous says:
They tried to induce me, broke my water, gave me the Pitocin, nothing was working. Still dialated only 1 cm after 7 hours of labor. So they decided to do a c-section. Good thing too, b/c she wasn't quite lined up with the birth canal. A litle off to the side.

  • Sarah says:
Water broke at 11 pm and we got to the hospital around 1 am (much to Jay's dismay...sleep would have been nice). I had to take a PH test to make sure it was my water that broke (which was negative...making me think I actually did pee myself...internal test was positive..phew!) I didn't feel any contractions for a while, but around 3 am they started intensifying. I lasted until about 7 am and then got an epidural. Back pain was too intense to take any longer, though I was hoping to go the no med route (just because I wanted the full experience...not cause I'm a "go natural" believer...to each her own!). Anyway mirror was set up (yes, I watched the whole thing) and I started pushing at 11 a.m., lasting for 51 min. No pain or pressure (epidural was too strong) but I got to see the whole thing! 13 hour labor, first time...not to shabby!

  • Mandy says:
    Epidural with Jayden, then emergency C-Section / Moey= C-section

  • Cari says:
    C-section

  • Erin says:

  • Kristen says:
c-section...I didn't go into labor...they just got him out as quick as he could...it took about 26 minutes.

  • Anonymous says:
Labor experience was not bad-overall good experience. We had a birthing plan but it was out the window as soon as we got to the hospital. We wanted to try to go as natural as possible, but since my water broke and I was dialted I had to be induced on pictocin. I was fine for a few hours and then the contractions got pretty intense. I finally got an epidural which was much, much better! I pushed for about 45 minutes. Overall I went into the hospital at about 9am and had Shelby around 8pm.

  • Abigail says:
Completely natural! Yeah! Felt like gas pain at about 7am, contractions were about 5-6 minuets apart from the very beginning. Tried to take a shower but about 2 seconds after I got in I had to get out because I felt like I had to push! Got dressed, and we left! Wheeled me into my room and 20 minuets later I was done. Episiotomies suck! Only 3 hours, yeah I know everyone hates me, sorry!

  • Anonymous says:
I had an epidural, which was very painful for me, I still felt all the contractions afterwards, I was in full labor for less than 12 hours, I don't really remember though, it coulda been a lot less than that, really wasn't paying attention to the time lol. I know I wasn't dilating as quickly as I should have, so I did a lot of walking up and down the hallway there and they let me sit in a hot tub for about 45 min and that's when it started.

Daunting to say the least after they tried to induce the monday wit a ribbon i would contract 8 times in 10 minutes and as i would start dialating she would pull her head back pulled it out tuesday moring n my waters broke naturally at 10 to 1 ten minutes before doc was gonna try! lucky for me... unlcuky for the poor cleaner having to mop up maternity i went into active labour and she again puled her head back so the had to fully induce me and bring on my contractions a then she went back to back and i ha to have an epidural i really didnt want drugs but in the end had to have them... 8 n a half hours two hrs pushing then bubby didnt breathe or screm or cry sraight away 4 very scary minutes. the last part of my labour was bad i had a fever of 39.5 and mine n bubbys heart rates went thru the celling if i didnt have her when i did i would of had an emergency c section but she is so so worth it

  • Nikki says:
Well, Taylor was "failure to thrive" so the induction was an emergency after an ultra-sound. I wasn't allowed to have any pain killers for the first 24 hours or it might "slow my progress". I never progressed. They broke my water at 24 hours, kept bringing on the drug-free contractions from hell for another 12 hours then FINALLY I thought I was ready to push. Nope, I was only at 1 cm. They finally decided after 36 hours to give me an epidural for a c-section.

  • Sandy-Lea says:
Very quick.. They were waitinf for a bed in materity ward bcoz Alexsi was comin a month early so they tried to stop her from comin.. #1 - Started in birth centre, ended up as augmentation and epidural as I was 'told' I wasn't dilating properly and so was pushed to do that. On the drugs for only 2 hours and he was born. Oh and they wouldn't believe me that he was coming until I told them he is going to be born on the floor if you don't hurry! Total 12 hours. #2 - Birth Centre all the way. Left to do my thing. Really great labour and birth. Total 10 hours. #3 - Home waterbirth. Natural all the way. Very fast and furious. Very different to other births. Bubs ended up being breech and half born before midwife arrived! Total 3 hours.

  • Breanna says:
I was in labor with Eli for about 25 hours (if you count labor as the time you lose the plug until delivery...and about 20 hours if you count form the time that contractions start until delivery). I had an epidural and Stadol to relieve the pain. I came to regret that decision after the epidural stopped my labor. With Nathaniel, I was in labor for 17 hours (if you count from losing the plug until delivery...and 12 if you count from contractions to delivery). I, reluctantly, chose to have the epidural...which I was glad for once I found out how big he was. That would have been terrible to have to feel...

  • Racquel says:
i was in labor from 9am to 7 am...it was slow at firstthen got too strong for my taste so i got an epidural, i started pushing at 3 am his head got stuck on my tailbone or pelvis, then his sholders got suck...he was finally out at 7 am...it was very hard and could have turned out very bad

  • Mallory says:
A little rough but ok. It only took them about 4 FREAKING HOURS to get me my epidural and my contractions were about 45 seconds apart by the time I got it. On top of everything, I threw up while contracting every 45 seconds in front and back (oh yeah it sucked) and my water was still leaking out and it was probably the most disgusting feeling EVER! I was only in labor for about 8 hours though and it was all worth it when my daughter was finally in my arms!

  • Amanda says:
EPIDURAL. woot woot! With Ethan, contractions started in the morning, but not bad enough for me to feel them. It was just intense pressure and horrible back pain. Once I got to four, I got an epidural and I took a nap for two hours and woke up and pushed for 45 min. With Olivia I got an epidural pretty much when I walked in the door and they checked me about an hour after the epidural and I was already at 10. So then I pushed for a hot minute and I had Olivia. WIth Lily they let me get my epidural before the contractions got bad. Hehehe! Then Lily sort of got stuck. I hung around the 4-7 mark for a couple hours. When shift change happened, I got another nurse. I told her I was surprised that this was taking so long. She suggested a position change. I turned over and then it was like there was this big movement. I knew she was coming. I told the nurse that I knew she was coming out and if I moved she was coming. My doctor's office is fortunately only across the parking lot, so he ran over (literally) and I pushed about three times and she was born. :-)

  • Charlie says:
I went into labor at 11pm on thursday with contractions about 3-4 minutes apart but they werent completely unbarable. Then she was born satrday at 12:04 in the afternoon. Once i got my epidural i slept.

w/E: epidural, and a episiotomy. Couldn't feel a THING b/c the epidural (had a good long time to work b4 delivery). Not sure. Checked in at midnight b/c water broke, but contractions didn't start until later. Had her at 8:20am w/G: spent Christmas Eve w/contractions 4-min apart then they stopped 8 am Christmas morning. Started again and "for real" later that night....8-ish? Checked in @hospital at midnight. Had baby at 3am. Epidural, but it was much lighter than the first...and I preferred it more since I knew when to push on my own.

It was horrible! I was in labor for a couple hours and only 2 centimeters dilated and BEGGING for an epidural ( I originally wanted to do it totally natural... that didn't last too long!!) Got the epi and I slept until it was time to push. Then I got sick to my stomach and was puking everywhere... I pushed for 2.5 hours and the DR decided Cayden's head was too big so she opted for an emergency c-section!

It wasn't that bad. I was two weeks late and had to be induced, and after 32 hours, I still hadn't progressed past 4cm, so I had an "emergency c-section."

  • Samantha says:
Olivia - 6.5 hours in labour, no pain relief had a bath which was the best thing ever and helped me dilate lots in a short time, 4 pushes and she was out! Daniel - awful experience, lots of blood and only semi-conscious due to blood loss, emergency c-section. Daniel went into respiratory distress/failure and ended up on CPAP, I ended up in recovery for 2 hours instead of 30 mins because my blood pressure wouldn't stabilise! All very dramatic! Thankfully all fine now!

  • Anonymous says:
I was induced at 9 a.m. and Reilly entered the world at 8:59 p.m., so it lasted almost exactly 12 hours. They broke my water at 11 a.m. and I didn't ask for/receive an epidural until about 4 p.m. I didn't mind the contractions so much, but I decided to go ahead and opt for the epidural because I was already stuck in bed (because of the pitocin), plus I was worried about the *other* kind of pain. If I hadn't had to be induced, I probably would have done it naturally.

  • Elisha says:

  • Melissa says:
Ethan emergancy c-section after 23 hours and Cohen vaginal delivery with the help of suction

  • Amanda says:
First - scheduled c-section. Easy as cake, but hard recovery. Second - Thursday morning - woke up around 7 with contractions. Was excited. Had my mom pick up Lucian. Called work. Took many showers. Watched all of the Harry Potter movies. Sat around. Went to go get checked out around 2 or 4 in the afternoon. 1 cm dilated, 75% effaced. Lots of frustration. Tried to breathe through everything. Sent home. Went back around 10 pm. No progress. Gave me ambien to help me sleep (HAHA!). "Woke up" very tired. Took more showers. Middle of afternoon (around 1) notice large amounts of mucus plug. See some blood. Go to hospital round three. Have baby 3 hours later. All this equals about 34 hours of labor, unknown amount of active labor, and about 30 minutes pushing. Contractions never got closer than 5 min apart and were never regular. Got an epidural as soon as I was carted into the birthing room (after 30 hrs, I figured I deserved it). After that, it was pie. (hehe)

  • Heather says:

Well Wih Hayley is a very long experience. She was 5 days late so they started to induce oin feb 11th @ 9am, By 8pm NOTHING had happened at all, So i stayed there and they tried again the next morning and when nothing happened again they were sending me home and then my water broke around 4pm on the 12 and was in hard labor from there on. and to sum it up lots of pain and no prgress so they ended up doing a c section at 8am on the 13th (while I was knocked out) and to find out she was stuck in the birth canal BAD.. And with Brookie, it was a easy sch c-section that I was awake for. :)

  • Sherrie-leah says:

  • Krissy says:
Natural. I dunno maybe an hour of strong contractions

  • Angie says:
Nick was completely natural, no drugs, barely even had my IV in. Hospital said I wasn't in labor and that he wasn't coming and I needed to go home and give the beds to other ppl that needed them...I HATE CITY HOSPITAL!! Went in at 10pm and had him at 7:45am. Gunnar was induced a week early and with him I had an epidural, drugs started at 7pm and he was born at 12:12pm the next afternoon at General. With Blake, I was itching, went to the ER on Monday as directed by my doctor and found that I had a complication, Cholestasis of Pregnancy and I could loose the baby and possibly die myself. So after a bazillion tests and days of staying in the hospital, I was induced and he was rushed to the neo-natal unit...I didn't get to see him for 5 hours after I had him...then he had to remain in the special care nursery for 5 days in an incubater. The things we go through for our children!! All happy healthy boys now, Thank GOD!! :-)

  • Quemella says:
Epidural please! Still was uncomfortable as hell.

  • Amy says:
Hahaha! I didn't have any drugs for the first two days of my labor- I went a full 24 hours after they broke my water, and then had to have a C-section. It was a long, unbelievable journey- but I am glad that I got to experience labor as it really is, without meds. I would do it again if I would be able to have a baby naturally.

  • Kimmie says:
My water broke at 8 a.m. but I didn't get contractions till 10:30 a.m. I did get the epidural then. Pretty easy no complications only 9 hours of labor.

  • Michaela says:
I was past my due date so it was decided that they would induce the labor. After giving me a medication to help thin the cervix, they began administering pitocin to start contractions. This happened a little after noon. It worked . . . fast! Chloe was born just after 5:00 pm, so I was only in labor for about 5 hours. I did have some sort of pain medication by IV when the contractions got bad, but it wore off quickly. At that point the labor was progressing so rapidly that there wasn't time for an epidural.

1st-got induced-spent the night in l&d with cerigel in, then my water was broke the next morning, 7 hrs of pitocin and 45min of pushing and there he was! Dr said it was a perfect day, she broke my water before her appoints, then came back to deliver, lol 2nd-got induced-broke my water immediately, put on pit again(thats the worst) then after 14 hrs of labor, still only at 8cm and my temp spiked so I had a c section. as far as meds, I had a spinal done both times, it was the best hr of my life!

  • Jenn says:
Hmm, Josie was painful, I cried for my Mum. With Ethan my blood wasn't clotting so they had to delay the epidural, so they gave me i.v. meds and I thought a gerbil was crawling in the corner of the room. With Jianna they had a continues i.v. epidural in place. Needless to say Jianna by far was the most pain free.

Natural birth with gas & epidural

  • Christina says:
With McKenna, I was shocked to find out that I was going to have a c-section. I wanted a natural birth, but because the cord was wrapped around her neck, they had to knock me out, and do the emergency c-section. Michael's birth was the best. I was laughing with the doctors and felt no pain, even after the birth, Tayler's was a nightmare. The doctor didn't wait untl I was numb so I felt him take all my insides out, then he gave me so much benadryl because he used Demerol even though I am allergic, so I couldn't hold her to feed her, because i was so jumpy from the benadryl. Then they put me in a wing all by myself, because of over crowding and they forgot about me. The whole experience was detramental.

No medication... Just the IV and then the epidural. I had Benjamin about two hours after the epidural. It was really fast. Three pushes, no pain. I was laughing and excited. BUT THEN the epidural started making me itch really really badly and the medicine they gave me for the itching made me sick. After that passed though, everything was fine again.

  • mary says:
i was induced, laboured for 10hrs then had cesarean. i had an epidural after 7hrs of labour

  • Linda says:
    c-section.

  • Crystal says:
Well, I had 12 hours of labor and then she had to be taken by an emergency c-section. I was really scared because everything went so fast and I was worried about the baby. I also got the shakes REALLY bad from a shot that they gave me to try and slow down the labor. The anesthesiologist had to do my epidural three times because he couldn't get it in right. I actually think that was the worst part because he was taking forever and I was having contractions.

  • Lesley says:
I was fine till they gave me pitocen then i was asking for drugs i just had pain meds but still felt everything but couldnt stay awake.

  • Diane says:
Oh my. Labor lasted about 18 hours. Epidural didn't take the first time so it needed redone. Drugs wore off too soon which wasn't fun. Alexis' heart rate kept dropping so I had a c-section. In the operating room, my spinal wore off after the baby was out so I was knocked out, and Dave says I still woke up again before they were done. Very interesting delivery with my oldest :) Ava's c-section however went very smoothly from start to finish. I actually am more nervous about the IV getting inserted than I am about the surgery itself. They had issues getting it in with both girls.

  • Joanne says:
Epidural - After water broke was induced only night nurses didn't want to deal with it so didn't turn up the medication until next shift came in. After the pain started to get bad had to wait about 2 hours for the epidural, doctor on call was new to the area and got lost on the way to hospital. Once real labor started it was I was in labor about 8 1/2 hours.

  • Jennifer says:
My labor experience included a lot of waiting. I went in on a Tuesday evening, started the petocin waited the majority of the day Wednesday I waited and waited. Then the doctor came in at night broke my water. I had a narcotic, which totally made me sick. Then the epidural, they had to try 4 times to get it right, that made me sick and I could still feel a whole heck of a lot going on down in my personal space. Pushed for an hour once fully dialated and then had Grayce at 5:01 am on Thursday morning.

  • Krista says:

  • Destini says:
My first labor lasted 23 1/2 hrs. I thought I was dying toward the end. I was only dilated to 5 after all that so I had no pain medication. They were afraid my labor and dilation would slow down if they gave me something. I ended up having a c-section.

We went to the hospital on the day we picked out and they broke my water and waited 6 hours and then the gave me an IV to induce my labor and nothing... then waited 6 hours and after trying everything I still hadn't had a contraction so we decided to follow the back up plan and have him c-section.......I don't know what my epidural would have been called it wasn't the standard epidural because Im allergic to pain killers so I had to go to a special doctor at the end of my pregnancy and have a special cocktail made out of my own blood just in case I had to have him c-section so we ended up using it.....I could still feel almost everything they were doing but it kinda deadened the pain so it wasn't so intence...
