Hi, my name is Kari Anderson. My son Joshua overdosed on some medication last Friday. As a result he has been placed in a Behavior Unit and had some psychiatric evaluations done on him. His diagnoses has come back as ADHD w/ a very good possibility of Aspergers. We are trying to figure out what Asperger's really is and how to go about getting Joshua fully diagnosed and begin treatment if there is anything. I'm also curious about any possible holistic treatments that might be out there. I'm know that there is no magic autism pill, but I just want to help my son in any way I can. If anyone here can respond and help me that would be great. Thanks. Kari

Hi Kari,

I am Katie my son is 12 going on 13 soon.He was diagnosed late in the game also.He was in 3rd grade and it took him getting expelled before things kinda fell in place.Its been a long long road.I have noticed the BEST Medcine in the world is patience and a healthy diet.Kepping him on a good strict plan .I make a chart and he knows at this time we do this at this time we do that.

I keep in summer camp for autistic children and it has really helped.keep him busy with alot of structure and it will get better..it took 2 years before Brennan calmed down he still hits his head and growls but as he gets older it does get better ALOT of copeing skills are needed.if you ever want to talk i am here!
