I find Christianity to be invasive, bigoted, and violent. But then again, all religions are like this. Christianity just bugs me more because its more radical followers are always pushing their beliefs on everyone else, through politics, laws, etc. They're always the ones with the guns shooting up abortion clinics, or praising "god" for earthquakes because of "teh gayz". Extremism in any form is dangerous and in this country's case, we are bombarded with the "religious right". They have no clue about history or the Constitution and are just dumbing down this country.



Now if I were living in the Middle East, I'd probably be more annoyed at radical Islam and Orthodox Judaism.

I myself am a Christian, and I have many friends who arent Christians. I do not preach to them, or condemn them, I just love them and show them respect. I understand totally where you are coming from when you say about Christian's trying to convert you and such. I think some of them take it as a personal attack if they find out that you don't believe what they do. I think that everyone is entitled to their beliefs and views on things, and I think it is wrong of them to judge you and make you think that we are all like that. To me, being a follower of Christ is a decision I made a long time ago, to help change my own life. I am not perfect, and neither is anyone else. Therefore, I just wanted to share my view of this for you, to show you that we all aren't like that! :)

I think it's just your 'home' religion. Christians don't bug me as much as religious Jews, but that's because I'm Atheist-Jewish (cultural, but not religious at all). But there is one Christian at my husband's work who also bugs him. He's Pentecostal. Lord! (pun intended)

It is in their religion to be the way they are. most churches preach that if a person does not try to help everyone that they think is in need of spiritual guidance, they will also be cast into hell. This makes them pushy, irritating, and invasive. They do not respect boundaries, because they think that they are doing you a favor.

I, too, have become quite intolerant of christians. I am somewhat of an antitheist. Almost every christian I have ever revealed my lack of belief in god to has tried to change me or threatened to pray for me. I have actually had to severe ties with some of my family members over this. They never had a problem with me before they found out, but as soon as they did they went nuts. They're all too stupid to realize that I am the same person I was before they knew......they are the only ones who changed!

I'm more intolerant of Christians but that's because I have more of a knowledge (though admittedly basic) of Christianity, so therefore have a better understanding of all its hypocrisy and damage to the world. I also have never really met anyone of other faiths who have annoyed me with their religion. I think I also like to support the underdog and in many cases it's the Christians on top. So sometimes I feel sorry for other faiths and then go "Hang on, you think they're wrong too!" Lol

Your not the only one. I have a friend that I have known for years. She found out I'm a "non-believer" and now wants to speak with me about my religious practices. How do you tell someone that lives for Christianity that you don't? I mean they are never going to believe you.
