I think it is necessary. If we don't openly ridicule religion, we will never be free of those shackles.

I believe that as long as religion is prominent in society and politics, humanity will not progress morally. Poverty, disease and abuse of the inable will never be solved until religion is discarded. That is only my opinion though.

I think it's funny. Same with the Church of the Fonz from Family Guy, it's all just sillyness. If we don't poke fun at religion, who will? It's the easiest way for a lot of religious people to see how we feel. I wanted to make FSM cookies this year, but didn't have time.
You can't disprove it and you can't stop it. It's all religion really is. Someone came up with an idea and got a bunch of people to join in... I think it could be a useful tool in keeping church and state separate. I love it.

I find it very amusing. I also think religion in general should be poked. I find it overall harmful. FSM pokes at it in a way that only a 'fake' religion can. Just like religions, nothing about FSM can be disproven. Plus, it gives me a fun fish to put on my car.

At first I thought it was annoying. Very VERY annoying.



Until many Christians whom I used to respect began to berate and criticize me then hide behind their religion for protection when I would ask them why then intended to be so hurtful when it was only RECENTLY they found out I wasn't religious (I used to attend the LDS church, then non-denom. Christian for a short while afterwards.



It was an extremely frustrating transition being "newly Atheist" not realizing how intimidated people would feel by my simple opinion of their god not existing. Now I find the Flying Spaghetti Monster stuff somewhat amusing. I wouldn't go out and buy the memorabilia but it selfishly, it is somewhat amusing to poke fun at the swiss cheese that is the Christian religion.
