Hi everyone,

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for joining the AP/Co-sleeping community and for your meaningful participation in the various discussions. I have seen members comment on how refreshing or encouraging it is to have the support of like-minded moms on issues of raising our little ones with love and respect. For those of you who participate frequently, thank you for keeping the AP message going, and for those of you who haven't checked in in a while, please do. We are sending a message about alternative, natural, beneficial methods of raising children when we share ideas with each other and we share those ideas, too, on the more general communities.

We have 2700 members! Last February, there were about 300 members, which was just about the time that I joined. Its very exciting!

Thank you!

Geralyn

Good to have a place to come at 3 in the morning! Thanks for keeping parenting alive that I can live with. It truly is a parent-directed world we live in. Everyone is always talking about the things they need to get their children to "do" so they can have their freedom back. I'm sorry -- didn't you choose to have a child so you could provide for their needs? Sorry, sarcasm at 3 am is hard to bite back. Lots of people offering me parenting advice lately, aimed at living life without interrupting my needs for my child. SO not what I signed up for! Sigh. Like I said, good to have a place to check in. Thanks, awesome moms!

Gee, I really didn't mean to use the word "alternative" in the sense that it appears to have been interpreted. I meant as an alternative to the parent directed, scheduled, hands off approaches that are prevalent in our society. We are not ALTERNATIVE! AP is truly based upon how parents raised children since the beginning of time perhaps before we as a society became so egocentric.

WOOOOOOOO

i agree with Kristen that its unfortunately considered 'alternative' however we are all playing an important part in bringing concious parenting back into the lime light!

Great to hear! I do think it's a little bit sad that what is truly a very natural way of parenting is considered "alternative" today, but it really is, at least for now. But we are changing the world :o)
