So I don't trust the input of moms in some of the general communities (lol...), I thought I would pose this question to this wonderful group of moms.... We have it narrowed down to 2 names for our little girl due in August.... I think we have it narrowed (oh, you never know!)...

Shannon Adele Rayne Ginn

Taylor Anne Rayne Ginn

(Ginn is my hubby's last name - and hopefully mine some day!) (And our son Noah has 2 middle names, so we are sticking with 2 for this one...)

Any feedback - even brutal honesty - is so appreciated.... My dearest friends have been less than honest... lol.

Oh, I know. Make sure you get as much rest as possible though, because (for me, anyway) my first baby was a definite life adjustment, but holy cow, does 2 ever keep you busy!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts will me! Choosing a name is such a big decision-making process... Hmmmmm... 3 weeks to decide! Lol... We will definitely wait til we see her...

I like both names. My sister is a Taylor, and her friend is a Taylor. It is a very popular name right now. You might consider that in your deliberations. If you prefer that, great. If you prefer a little less "saturation" then you might go with Shannon. There are still many Shannons out there, but right now there are not as many as there are Taylors. Shannon was "saturated" with kids my age (I'm 42).

I do like Shannon Adele, but I always think of what the acronym will be and don't know if SARG would work for you or not! I do also really like Taylor (especially the shortened form Tay). If you are worried about popularity, check statistics for your area online. It may give you some insight as to what level of popularity it's at right now. After our first was born, it took almost a month to name her and the second took 10 weeks. It's a crazy process, so I wish you the best of luck!

I like Shannon Adele Rayne Ginn. I really like Rayne btw since that was the middle name we had chosen if Xander had been a girl lol.

We waited until we met him in the hospital and he still didn't have a name until 3 days later....we hated everything and I'm glad we waited because Xander is the perfect name for him. So with that said I agree that maybe you should wait until you see her ;)

What an amazing revelation... I totally believe in things happening that way. Alexsandra Grace is beautiful. Grace is the name I gave to one of the babies we lost to a miscarriage (although there could be a little boy in heaven with the name "Grace" and he will give me an earful some day....). Reagan is a little miracle!

What is it with guys and fat girl names???? I loved Clare, and my hubby said it was a fat girl name... what is he talking about????? Ridiculous!

No, Alexandra Grace. If we have another girl, it will be Riley Ann Grace, which is beautiful to me.

Reagan actually 'told' us her name was Grace when I had a crazy bleed Lplacental abruption? They still don't know) we thought we were going to lose her, but the name came to both of us that day, at seperate tmes and places, after my Bishopric had come to administer a blessing. Her name should've been Gfrace, but he said that is a fat girls name. Guess he's never heard of Grace Kelly :p

Holy terrible mobile editing, batman!

Emily, you are right! I had not idea how popular Taylor was for a girl. Its funny how names have changed over the years....

Traci, you've been MIA. Lol... So RAGP - is A Ann? Our son is Noah Wesley Riley Ginn (Riley being my maternal grandmother's maiden name...). He is such a Noah, I couldn't imagine him with any other name.... I fell in love with that name (Noah) early on in the pregnancy, but I was tryin' to keep an open mind. So a few weeks from delivery, my hubby asked have I decided on a name, and I said "Oh, I don't knowa (Noah)"... we both cracked up.

I wanted Rowan or Riley, but we ended up with Reagan, which is pronounced like the president, NOT like it should be (Ree-gan). My husbands family has a tradition of everyone having the same middle initials (RGP or RSP) but he didn't want her to be Reagan Grace Patino, that was just too creepy (oh family drama) so she's RAGP.

Which is funny, because you've got SARG and TARG up there, haha.

But the name I REALLY wanted was Maxine Grace, but oh no, he was not having any of that 'name them after YOUR family bit', and things were a bit squirrely anyway, so I let him name her. I sort of regret that decision, but at least I got to keep Grace (which has a long, involved, pregnant story, that I will tell you if you want, but it's sort of overload.)

Why don't you wait and see when the child is born?

I am a great believer that when a child is born s/he (childs spirit, for lack of a better analogy) chooses their own name... One that will suit and be carried well by this little person.

I waited with both my children until after they were born, for the name (Ok, both me and my partner had a list of our "mutual favourites" for both sexes before the child was born) to be chosen. For me, it wasn't even my no.1 name in both instances... those particular names I liked THE best just didn't sit well, or feel well with that baby. Though we still ended up choosing one of the names from our "favourites list" ( with my first, I wasn't even aware that it was in our top names list - forgotten, as that was looked at weeks before we went into labour...lol).
Now, even though I said we "picked" the name, I believe that on a subconscious level we, the parents, communicated with the baby's subconscious higher self, or soul who then told us which name s/he would like to "wear" in his/her current life. I know, I know, it all sounds too wishy washy and ridiculous...

I also know of instances where a friend of mine who knew she was having a girl had a name all picked out for this child, and was gladly announcing it to everybody months in advance... We were all so very surprised that when she finally did have this littlle girl, and announced the name.... IT WAS DIFFERENT! Wasn't even close to what she was originally thinking.... To me, that is the child choosing its own name that s/he wants to carry thru this life :-)

Sorry, I didn't give you an answer you were looking for... :-)
But may be an idea you "may" feel comfortable with :-)

We did that! We couldn't decide between Nicholas Spencer and Nicholas Kevin. We finally went with Spencer jut becasue it flowed better, but we didn't decide until I wrote it on the certificate.

As far as a girl, as much as I would love one, between the gestational diabetes with Nick, and the pre eclampsia with Nathan, then the rapid delivery with Nick, I don't think my poor husband could take anymore. Or me I guess. Mike was beside himself by the time we had Nick, scared for me and his safety. So unless the divine intervenes, we're not trying for antoher. :)

Oooh, cool names! Both are excellent choices. Any chance trying for a girl at some point? lol.... Thank you, thank you for the input... hmmmmmmm.... I will be debating this in my head until we sign the birth certificate!

I like both but my husband and I agree on the first one. If we had a girl we were either naming her Morrigan Lenora Kay Dale or Jeena Lenora Kay Dale. :)
