April: yes. It is a fake hand that has the weight of a human forearm and retains the smell of the mother.

A little weird.

Yeah the boppy is one of the "must haves" that I LOVE! I never had one with my other 3 children, but got one with this one. I am able to eat, get on the computer, write, read to my other kids, pump the other breast all while nursing! I did all of these things with my other babies, but I had to do it with only one hand or do it on a regular pillow in only one position. But, the way I feel about the boppy-type pillow is the same way I feel about slings/carriers. Yes, you are getting help with your mothering by a "gadget", but at least it is helping you still be hands-on with your baby. =)

LOL, for FIFTY BUCKS. Yeah. One more item on the list of crap the baby industry forcefeedcs new moms that they need. Some ideas are okay, like I like the Boppy style pillow (though I refused by by the overmarketed boppy brand), but that you could replicate with regular pillows too, but at least that is a support item...

Artificial hands, artificial breasts, what's next? Instead of blow up dolls for sex purposes, you buy a doll to hold your baby?

I think this is just another invention to keep mothers hands-off on their babies. Kind of like that fuzzy thing that props the bottles. I think eventually we will be expected to never hold our babies at all!
