I just spend 3 glorious days laying on the beach in Ft Lauderdale drinking frozen margaritas, not having to wipe bums, noses or other bosy parts. Boy, did I miss my kiddo. My hubby called me Sunday morning and my son got on the phone crying. He wanted his mommy right now. It broke my heart. I was on the phone with him for over and hour talking and finally he calmed down. When I got home last night he insisted that I sleep in his room in his bed. I woek up this mornnig with one hand down my shirt and the other wrapped around my hair tight. On the way to school he told me that he didn't want me to leave again so that was why I had to sleep in his room.

We are going to Maui in 4 weeks and my mom and step dad are watching him. I don't know if I can take this. Anyone have any advise on ways you have made "fun alone time" travel not so painful for the attached kiddos?

I've never left my children.. my 5 year old sometimes spends the weekend with the grandies because she wants to. I miss her heaps when she is gone..pity she doesn't feel the same! haha. I think its more fun or and adventure to stay with the grandparents than saying home with dad. How long are you going to Maui for? maybe tell him hes going on his own holiday and give him time to mentally prepare, talk about all the things to look forward to. If your Mum keeps him busy, time will fly. Hes the right age to be able to explain why you going for a little while and that you will be back before he knows it. Good luck anyway

A child free holiday..*sigh* I'm jealous:)
