every once in a while, i get paranoid that my son is starting to wean completely. i really want to make it to his second birthday and i know he still enjoys nursing, too. however, i am at my mom's house for mother's day. whenever i come to visit, she shoves food down my son's throat. if he isn't interested, she won't give up until he gives in to her. i've noticed this past week that he isn't nursing as much as he nurses when we're at home. during his normal naptime feed, i can tell he isn't trying to extract milk, he's just comfort sucking (nap is his only daytime feed). during the night, he normally nurses about 5 times...he's only nursing maybe twice. normally at night, he is ravenous. at my mom's...he's not. also....my breasts feel different here!! i feel soooooooooo empty!! i am not sure what's going on here. I'm so confused and could use some insight!

My son also nurses much much more when we're at home. I think it's just a comfort thing. And obviously, the supply/demand thing.. the more they nurse, the more you have, so that might explain the change in how your breasts feel. But I would doubt you're ever empty!
