My son is doing that now. too young for a booster but weighs to much for a normal car-seat. We found a 'safety first' car-seat at Wal-mart that has a 5-point harness for the car-seat we need but when he reaches the right age then the seat goes to a booster where we will use the seat belt! it goes from 25-90 pounds forward facing.

You have to check the weight and height specifications for the seat. I know a child has to weigh at least 40 pounds (about 20kg) before you can move them to a booster seat. Also, they have to be tall enough so the seat belt will fit properly over their shoulders. I think 2 is still too little for that. The longer you can keep them in a 5-point harness seat, the better. It's the safest option.

I have opted to go for the Britax Evolva Child Car Seat Benno as it has the 5 point harness and will suit children from 9 months to 12 years. It will last till my little one no longer needs a car seat.
