Nightmares?

My son is sleeping all the way through the night, and has been for some time now. But in the last 3-4 months, he has been having what I think are nightmares. He will scream out in the middle of the night, or wimper alot. I go in to check on him, and he is sound asleep. I am wondering if any other moms are going through this too. And if so, is there anything I can do to help him have a more peaceful night.

yes my son does the same I assumed nightmares also, I find stroking his hair & whispering in his ear to let him know I am there, helps him calm down in his sleep.

Hi!  We have had this same issue with our son.  I took him to the doctor a few months ago because I was concerned that he might have an ear infection or something because he would wake up screaming in the middle of the night.  He would be inconsolable.  It was awful.  Physically, he was fine and the doctor thought it might be night terrors.  This lasted for a few weeks and he's been mostly fine since then.  He will still whine or cry some in the night, but hasn't had the horrific screams.  Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be much you can do about and they usually don't remember it happening.  Supposedly, they eventually grow out of it.  But, it's so hard.  You feel so bad for them.   Good luck!!!!!!

yah my son has too. he sleeps really well then out of no where he just starts crying. so what i do is go in and wake him up and pick him up and just let him know its ok then he sees its me and then hes better and goes back to sleep
