my son's very picky when it comes to his meals but he tends to accept most of the snacks through out the day, I need new ideas for healthy snacks or something that would help him get his daily calories....

Smoothies are great. I make them for my son with yogurt and all sorts of fruit. You can also add fresh spinach for a great veggie. I know it sounds gross but you can't taste the spinach at all and if you use berries then it doesn't really effect the color.

I have had great luck with the Deceptively Delicious cookbook (the one Jerry Seinfeld's wife wrote). It is full of breakfast, lunch/dinner, snack, and dessert recipes that include pureed veggies (and meat for the meals if he's not a meat eater). I highly recommend it. One thing my daughter really likes which I found in Parent's magazine is home made popsicles that are 2 cups of vanilla yogurt and 1 cup of frozen mixed berries, combine in blender or food processor and pour into popsicle molds (need to freeze for about 8 hours). My husband loves them too - more than store bought popsicles! Good luck!

my son is allergic to dairy, he is a picky eater when it is me giving it to him but if he sees daddy eating it he is all over it. Also there are toddler snacks at like wal-mart. my little one loves crackers so i try to add stuff on the crackers to get him to eat them.
