Which ones are worth the price? Which ones do you recommend? Should I trust online user ratings?

Thanks.

i got the britax marathon. this car seat is amazing. i can't believe how well my baby rides in it. it is sooooo worth it to b/c he can stay in this one car seat for a very long time. some kids can stay in it until they are 5-6 years old!!!!

beware of carseats w/too much padding b/c it can get hot and uncomfortable quick. the marathon has good padding, but they don't overdo it. :)

i go w/ eddie bauer all the way! they're kinda pricey but totally worth it.. they're super padded and have this EPP foam to absorbe any impact in a collision. plus they're easily installed from car to car and not super bulky! i love both of mine

I got the Evenflo Triumph because it was recommended by several friends. I love it and my little girl travels in it well and seems to be very comfortable.

22 pounds limit? I better check mine to see how much it holds, my daughter is about 15 pounds. I have been looking at "big kids" car seats and there is just so many to choose from! Sorry about that, I was confused on convertible car seats lol. Its just hard to believe that they grow so fast!

Oh no! Convertible car seats already?! I don't want to have to begin picking out more baby products. Has your baby outgrown the infant car seat? I am not looking forward to that. I spent much time in choosing his stroller which came with his seat. Luckily the Chicco claims to fit up to 30 lbs, so we'll see!! LOL
Good Luck!

My graco infant seat that came with the stroller says the limit is 22 lbs.  My little chubby man is already 19lbs!  LOL.

Thanks.  My child gets very hot in his Graco infant carrier.  It never fails that I always have to take him out of the infant carrier so he can cool off.  Some of the cheaper convertibles only go up to 40lbs weight limit and I noticed the Britax goes up much higher.  I would think the difference in price would be well worth it since you wouldn't have to buy another car seat after they surpassed the 40lbs mark!

I got it from Target and it is the Graco Alano. It is pink with brown and cream flowers. I absolutely love target, they have great baby products and aren't very expensive. Like I said, I love the car seat and the base is great, easy to use and the stroller is wonderful! The car seat fits perfectly in it and it folds up easily. I had to drive all over just to find it because I had to have it!! lol

Ashley:

That's actually an infant carrier with base that comes with a stroller.  A convertible car seat is a car seat that most parents switch to after their baby grows out of the infant carrier (usually around 22lbs).  An newborn can usually ride in a convertible car seat at around 5 lbs, but most parents usually opt for a infant carrier since it can be taken out of the base and snapped into the stroller.

I'm trying to get suggestions on a convertible car seat.

Thanks for the help though.

Thank you, Andrea.  I've looked at the eddie bauer 3-in1 convertible seat too.  There are just too many choices out there!

The Evenflo Triumph got really great reviews from Consumer Reports (which is supposed to be unbiased) but some of the online user reviews are kind of mixed so I just couldn't decide on this one. Thanks for your recommendation.

RE: to the Graco convertible....do you know which one you have?? Thanks.

I bought a convertible one that came with a stroller, I LOVE it and have had no problems with it. It is from Graco and I bought it on sale from Target for 139.00 regular price 189.00. I think it was worth the price, and it is very cute.
