My son has an allergy to cows milk proteins. I breast fed for two weeks and he wasn't gaining, he actualIy lost weight, so I had to supplement with formula and discovered he had the allergy. His pediatrician reccomended a soy formula but I had heard and read a lot of negative things about soy formula, esp. not knowing the effects of the phyto-estrogens it contains, so I did not want to feed that. I chose to give my son the Similac Alimentum formula and after he turned six months started mixing in a formula made with goats milk and he is tolerating it very well. I live in Malaysia but will be coming home to the U.S. in the next couple of months. I cannot find a goats milk formula available in the U.S. Does anyone know if there is one available? The one I am feeding here is the ONLY one I could find suitable for 6 months and up and it is also organic. All of the others are for one yr. or older.
