I was just wondering how much everyones babies were sleeping during the day.It seems the more Lilly sleeps in the day the better she does at night.

My little boy sleeps about 45 minutes to an hour and a half about each feed. His sleeping period at night if from 9:30 to about 2:30 or 3:30. He sleeps for about 5 hours before he wakes up to feed. He goes back to sleep in about an hour after he wakes up. He wakes up by 5:30 or 6:30am to feed before I go to work. But he falls asleep on my shoulder by 7:15 before we go to his grandparents, who take care of him while I am at work. Should he be sleeping though the night yet? But on rare occasions he does sleep though the night.

Just be thankful. I have to wake Lilly sometimes too. i worry about her needing more stimulation but she just gets cranky and wants her sleep very 2 hours too.

Hi
I'm new here. I have a 11 week old boy too. And I've been wondering if he sleeps too much. He love to sleep. When he is tired he just starts to whine and I know to put him to bed. He welcomes it and is fast asleep. He breastfeeds every 4 hours religiously! So no matter how how long he is awake or asleep, he'll want to feed at the 4 hour mark. At night he sometimes goes for 5 hours.
Anyway, he is very rarely awake for more than 2 hours at a time - including his 45 minute feeding. He sleeps for 2 hours around 10:30. Up by 12:30 ish. Back to sleep at around 2 or 3 and sleeps until 6 at times. My husband usually wakes him when he gets home at around 5:30. He's back a sleep at around 7 and feeds at around 9pm ... his 9 pm sleep is the one he sometimes goes for 5 to 6 hours. So he'll wake at 2 am or 3 am, feed and go right back to sleep until 7 or 8am. I feed and play with him until 10 am and the cycle starts again. Seems like he is always sleeping. Go for me. I get lots done and sneak the odd nap, but I worry that he is not getting enough stimulation. Also makes it difficult to do anything outside the house. And I miss him while he sleeps! lol
Any thoughts?

Breastfeed...she falls asleep on her own. She sleeps in her swing or in my bed (so she will be downstairs with me). I cant keep her awake. But at night she will only sleep in 3 hour spurts.

I should have also said that it sounds like your baby is getting a nice amount of daytime sleep. How do you get your baby to sleep after her lunch time feed, and where does she sleep? Are you bottle or breast feeding?

I class my babies day is 7am to 7pm (so night time is 7pm to 7am), so if your little one is sleeping from 6am to 9am, i'd class it as part of her night as it started before 7am. Hope that makes sense!

She sleeps about an hour in the morning, an hour and a half after lunch and about an hour late afternoon. But she also sleeps after her last nighttime feeding from 6 am - 9 am. So I am not sure if that is a nap or part of her night.

I have a little boy, 11 weeks old and I try and get him to have 45 minutes in the morning, 1 hour at lunch time and then another 45 mintutes later in the afternoon. I know he should be having much more but he's not a very good sleeper. He's only just dropped one of his night feeds. I do notice that if he sleeps better in the day, especially the lunchtime feed, he sleeps better at night. I have a friend who's baby nearly sleeps all day and night, so I actually wonder if there is any rule to the amount of daytime sleep and amount of night time sleep! Every baby's different. How much does your baby have?
