First time mommy with developmental milestone question

My daughter was 7 months yesterday. She sits grate and can roll over on one side to her belly. She hasn't done it in a while though (almost over a month). She tolerates being on her belly and pushes her chest completely off the floor and tries to scoot, but ususally goes backwards. I am not concerned with her progress, I know she'll get there and is just fine. Just curious as to when they roll from stomach to back and to the other side, go from sitting to their belly. All of those things are in the baby books, but there's no real order to it. Is there an order? What kinds of things can I do to help her? I feel like she just gets bored sitting on the floor with a few toys. She'll only do that for 20 to 30 minutes at the most and then wants to go in her jumperoo or exersaucer or bumbo. She's spoiled I know. My mom always says she wonders how she raised me without all of these things.

Thanks.

as everyone else has said, she will do these things at her own pace, in her own order. I woried with my first, panicked if he wasn't meeting every milestone the 'minute' the book said it was supposed to happen, thought there was something wrong anytime I'd notice something funny....etc. now he's 31months, never stops talking [haha] climbs ladders, runs everywhere, can ride a bike, can draw a face...etc. my daughter is 7months and can roll like crazy, and is only starting to get stronger with sitting, I know it will come....

don't rush them, because really...once they start, they don't stop- they just keep on growing up!

Too funny, we feel Caroline might walk before she crawls also. She stands on us, but not holding on to furniture, but doesn't show any interests in crawling. I do know from a coworker that as soon as they figure out how to crawl the next day it's all over, make sure everythings baby proofed. We are spending Spring Break baby proofing since I am a teacher won't get a break until summer. I have to figure by summer she will be beginning to move around a little.

my baby is 7 months, sits up and plays, but usually wants her bouncy after a while. She like her tummy time, but usually end up going back wards or rolling over. i feel she is going to walk before she crawls. but its all at her own pace.

Brayden started rolling over at 5 months, he's now army crawling and sooooo close to lifting himself up to crawl but he can't sit on his own with out support yet (he just tenses all his abs and tries to grab something to pull up but he's not going anywhere!). The order is directed by your baby, if he/she wants to concentrate on pushing out teeth and talking before rolling and crawling then so be it. As long as he/she is learning and getting better at SOMETHING..

If it helps, my oldest was 7 months before she could sit up, 8 when she finally rolled over and 9 before she started crawling. She just wasn't interested at all. I'd put her on her stomach and she's scream, so tummy time just wasn't happening all that often. I'm sure your baby is fine. But there really isn't any order in which babies do things. My baby (6 mo) was crawling before she leared how to roll over or sit up... kind of caught me off guard. Some babies are just more interested in doing new things than others. With my oldest, I tried and tried and tried countless times to try to teach her how to do things but she just plainly didn't care.

All babies go at their own speed and own style. I use my pack and play as a portable play pen that I move from room to room when I do housework in the morning, he gets a bunch of different developmental time at once. He gets his tummy time when he's tired of sitting up and playing wiht his toys, he has balls in there that encourage crawling, and he also has room to roll around. I like to vary his day when it comes to play time since at their age they only have a short attention span and can get bored quickly. We have play pen time, jumperoo time and then mummy time (either in my lap cuddling and play with smaller toys and books or on the floor with other toys) so that he gets a variety of stimulation that will strengthen his developing skills. Just let your baby be your baby and encourage her to have fun with what she can do and she will explore and expand what she can do already.

I don't think there is an order, everyone develops at his/her own pace. Besides some babies walk before they crawl so I wouldn't worry too much. I'd just make sure you give her lots of tummy time and also time on her back. I noticed with my daughter (71/2mon) that once she started sitting (she loves it) that we weren't giving her a lot of tummy or stomach time and for a while she wouldn't really roll over much (she's able to go both ways). It has only been recently that we've been giving her much more tummy/stomach time that she started rolling like crazy. At this age they are also starting to test their limits with us so try to encourage more floor time instead of the jumperoo etc. Good Luck and you could always give her doctor a call if you're truly worried.
