my son doesn't want to take and drink milk. He sips a little, but the doctor wants him to drink more. He just drinks 3 to 6 ounces a day plus i still nurse him. He is a little ball of energy and hardly stops moving to drink. How do I get him to drink more?

I started by swapping one of her formula bottles for one with cows milk. She would get formula in the morning and at bed time with cows milk at dinner and some juice at lunch. She was a bit funny with it at first but she is now on cows milk for every bottle except lunch.

P.S. Doctors are not always right. Trust yourself, he's your baby. x

Blitz some strawberries or bananas, add milk, away you go. Did it with both of mine as neither would take a bottle or cup of milk, they'd throw a wobbler and start rooting in my bra. Love x

Honestly? With my twins, I put a little bit of Ovaltine in it. Not enough for really rich, chocolaty milk, just enough to give it a little flavor. I figured Ovaltine was better than chocolate syrup; it has some vitamines etc in there.

I started using half formula and half milk and slowly removed the formula in ounces and now were up to a full 8oz of whole milk.

I started by mixing it into my sons cereal in the mornig and formula...every day I used more milk than water...Than I started using less formula until eventually it was straight milk. He didnt even flinch and now he LOVES milk...GOOD LUCK!

Is the doctor just concerned about his vitamin D levels? If you're nursing, and you supplement with 4000IUs of Vit D yourself, he should be okay. If you're concerned, though you can give your son vitamin D drops. My pedi recommended 1000IUs in winter.

Kellymom's got a great page on this: http://www.kellymom.com/nutrition/vitami...
