My daughter is 19 months old and I stopped giving her an afternoon bottle about a month ago and she has never looked back. I still give her one in the morning after breakfast and one at night before bed. During the day she has a sippy cup with either water or cordial in it. Skye started to refuse the afternoon one which is why I stopped it.

hi just sow your post
i throw out my little girls bottles out when she was 12 months and since she drinks her milk from a beaker
she has milk first thing in the morning before breakfast times 2 as she always asks for it she has it during the day when she asks for it and one beaker about 10 mins before bed.
you need to remember that milk is good for the bones so if you cut out the milk you should give more yoghurts etc
hope this helps

Sara- Sophie was the same way. She used to drink everything else in her sippy cup except milk. So I would warm the milk a little in the sippy cup and she started drinking it that way and now she will drink it cold in her cup.

I tried putting Mia's milk in a sippy cup - ALL different kinds & she won't drink it!! (She will drink anything else in a cup, just not milk!) She ONLY wants milk in a bottle. We do milk in the morning & before bed. Sometimes at naptime depending on how much she eats at lunch. I actually give her toddler formula - she hasn't been the best eater up until about a week ago, but it still gives her lots of vitamins & minerals! I don't think there's anything wrong with them having milk, it's just the bottle I wish she'd trade!

My daughter is 17 months old and takes a bottle before she lays down for her nap, and then one before bed at night, but she drinks from a sippy cup during the day. But she isn't really drinking the one at nap time, so Im going to try just giving her one at night.

My son is 17mons and drinks from a sippy cup since he was 12mons. He has a cup of milk in the morning with his breakfast and a cup an hour before bed. Other than that he only drinks water and once in a while I will give him some watered down apple juice.

try giving her some water, it comforts her but you have to mix it up a little. my daughter was off the bottle at 9 months old.. you might want to try to get a soft nipple cup until she gets used to a sippy cup

i stopped the bottles when amelia was 11months, she gets a beaker, start by putting the milk in beaker, after a week cut out the morning bootle and then after another while cut out the last bottle, once she has her meals she dosent need the milk to fill her only as a drink

hi my son is 17months old and has a morning bottle and night bottle of cows milk, im not in a rush to take him off them, but he would quite happily just have one in the morning. its down to you when you stop giving either one. :)

My son is 17 months and has been on a sippy since 10 months and drinks two cups a day. One with breakfast and one with dinner. Sometimes I give him one if we are out in the afternoon because he loves milk, but other than that he gets water.

my daughter has been using a sippie cup since she was 12 months old. my doctor told me to only give her milk with meals. and give her water or juice when she is thirsty. try introducing a cup. she may love it

my son drink once, only in the morning when he wakes up before breakfast. He doesnt like to drink from bottle since 12 months years old and throw the bottle so I tried gave him from a beaker with straw, he loves it.

I dont think it necessary to give more milk since they already eat family food.

Hope it helps.
