We have lived in a trailor for the last 4 years now and we finally bought a house. I was wonderig if anyone has had issues with their child moving to a new house. I am worried becuase it is going to be a lot more child proffing and what not. i am also tryin to start potty training and wonderin if anyone has experienced it yet to see what works and what doesnt.

we also moved recently, and we let our little man run arround the empty house a little before we moved anything in (to get the lay of the land, we also kept telling him this was home now). he then stayed at nanna and pop's house till the furniture was in and he never went back to the old house once he had been in the new one. we also got him to "help" put the finnishing touches on his room. he dealt really well with it though and you'd have thought he's lived here forever. i think they understand things quite well and if your careful with telling them what's going on, not just surprise them they should cope well. potty training isn't taking off so well, not that we are really pushing it, we are still getting him used to the idea by sitting him on it while we run a bath or before we have a shower, we have had a couple of successes with this and it's a handy introduction as if they get excited and stand up or play in it they are all ready ready for their wash. good luck with everything.

As for the moving, we just moved into a new house 2 months ago. We made sure we had EVERYTHING for her bedroom set up the day we moved in, and we did our best to make sure it was set up just like her old room. She did really well with the move, it just took her some time to realize that this is where we live now! And the potty training, I bought the book 'potty training in less than a day' well, for my little one, it did NOT work! not to say the book wasn't great and i'm sure it would work great on a child that is ACTUALLY ready, but my daughter is not! She had no problems sitting on the potty, she enjoyed it! but i don't think she has the bladder control that is needed to be potty trained, she did not one tell me she needed to potty or go to the potty herself. she just peed wherever she was, and i saw it every time, and i just don't think she is quite ready yet. if you feel your child has the bladder control and can do it, hen give it a try! i know lots of kids that were potty trained before their 2nd birthday! just remember to make it enjoyable and don't get frustrated with them, because then they just don't want to do it at all!
