innie, it depends on how close or far they clamp it off when they're born. My mother said she noticed about an inch or so difference when mine was clamped versus my sister. She has an outie and I have an innie. Not like it matters, it's cute in any way!

I thought it had to do with the way the dr. or nurse ties it off, but now that I think about it maybe it is the clip or ??????

my daughter elle has both!! her belly button is in on the right side and out on her left. its kinda neat looking. do you think it has anything to do with the way they put that little clip on in the hospital?
