Night wakings when daughter was sleeping through the night

My dear daughter has recently decided to begin waking up and staying up for 1.5-2 hours almost every night for the past 2.5 weeks. She wakes up between 2 and 2:30 and doesn't go back to sleep until almost 4. We get up at 6 to get ready and head to daycare. So this nasty cycle of her being overlytired has now begun.

Bedtime is at 7 (definitely no later than 7:30). She was sleeping 11 hours a night without a peep. This all began about the time she cut 3 teeth at the same time, recovered from a double ear infection, and began crawling. Separation anxiety may also be a factor

We tried Crying it Out (only because that's what every well-meaning family member suggested), but she did until she threw up :( I cried just as much as she did! I am not a fan of this approach as we (my dear husband and myself) were able to get her to sleep through the night without trying this approach when she was younger.

I'm wondering if anyone else is going through this with their August baby. When I talk about this with my friends, I feel like I'm the only one!

i am pretty much in the same situation as you... my daughter Taylor slept through the night from 2 months.. i thought "this is great" until about a month ago when the teeth started coming through. she wakes up at least once a night sometimes 2 or 3 times.. luckily i just have to hold her for a moment then she falls back to sleep..i also tried the letting her cry it out... didnt work for us either, i lasted 15 minutes, until she threw up every where and then that idea was done... i wish i had some advice for yoou, but i dont. i just wanted you to know that u are not alone, and how long can teething last anyway??? at least thats what i keep asking myself....

My daughter had started sleeping through the night and had done it for a couple of weeks. She now, and for almost two months, gets up once or twice and drinks half a bottle and/or wants to play. We have tried letting her cry a bit but all that accomplished was a realy mad baby, tired us and an awake grumpy 3 year old. She has no teeth yet but they do appear to be coming in. We have desperately trying to figure something out as my husband and I are getting less sleep now then when she was just born.

Hi Megan

My Daughter was born on 22nd Aug 08 and from day 1 of bringing her home she has always been a good sleeper and recently like yourself I have been having to get up with her during the night sometimes more than once, She had been poorly from a throat infection and I thought it was just the reprocutions of that but she seems to still be unsettled at times, she is teething at the min which makes it doubly hard to figure out what is disturbing her. You are most definatly not the only one my dear, t least now we know we can help each other out :0)
