My dear daughter has recently decided to begin waking up and staying up for 1.5-2 hours almost every night for the past 2.5 weeks. She wakes up between 2 and 2:30 and doesn't go back to sleep until almost 4. We get up at 6 to get ready and head to daycare. So this nasty cycle of her being overlytired has now begun.
Bedtime is at 7 (definitely no later than 7:30). She was sleeping 11 hours a night without a peep. This all began about the time she cut 3 teeth at the same time, recovered from a double ear infection, and began crawling. Separation anxiety may also be a factor
We tried Crying it Out (only because that's what every well-meaning family member suggested), but she did until she threw up :( I cried just as much as she did! I am not a fan of this approach as we (my dear husband and myself) were able to get her to sleep through the night without trying this approach when she was younger.
I'm wondering if anyone else is going through this with their August baby. When I talk about this with my friends, I feel like I'm the only one!
