Hi. My daughter is 8.5 months old and she has ben refusing a bottle for 4 days now. She normally eats 3 meals a day and 3 bottles (before naps and bed). We went to the doc and she had an ear infection and has been on antibiotic for 3 days now and she is still refusing the bottle. We have tried bottles with breast milk, formula, water, even juice and the same with the sippy cup and she just pushes it away and will not even attempt to take it. We just started introducing the sippy cup a week or so ago so i do not expect her to understand that yet but I am worried about the bottle. She is eating more solids and I am mixing in formula and/or breast milk in with her solids but she is only getting about 4 ounces of fluids a day because it is in her food. I have heard that some babies may take themselves off of the bottle at this age so I am not sure if it is that or if it is her ear bothering her (which it should not be her ear because of the amount of time she has been on antibiotics). She is having wet diapers about every 5 hours (I know 6 ours is when to be concerned) but they are just barely wet and her mouth is still wet so I know she is not dehydrated (yet). Has this happened to anyone or do you have any suggestions on how to get liquids in her? Sorry for such a lengthy question but any suggestions would be helpful. Oh, we are going back to the doctor today.
