Sleeping through the night...then not

Has this happened to anybody else with a five month old baby? My son was sleeping through the night for about a month, he was sleeping upwards of 11 hours each night. I was so excited to have such a good sleeper, while knowing that it could change at any time. I guess this week was the time. Now he's waking up two or three times at night, ready to rock and roll. I'm not exactly complaining about it because I am able to go back to sleep after, but I was wondering if it's normal. Am I doing something wrong, or should I be doing something different to try and maintain a proper routine. We do the whole, bath, story, bed thing at roughly the same time each night. I wonder if he's just readjusting his schedule.

Rylee has started to do the same.  Had always slept through the night, since 6 weeks, until a couple of weeks ago.  Now she is getting up once or twice.  I am not sure if it is hunger or her moving around.  A think a little of both.  Moving wakes her up and then instead of going back to sleep she realizes she is hungry.

Maybe those mitts for newborns to keep their hands warm?

My daughter seems to go through a lot of phases with her sleeping, some lasting longer than others. She was sleeping 10:00-7:30 every night for over a month, and then it was like she flipped a switch and started waking up every night again. That was in December, and since then sleeping through the night has been hit and miss...she'll sleep all night 3 nights, then wake up 5 times the next. Someday she'll be more consistant...

So what do we do about that?

Thanks for the replies. My guy does the same as yours Aytza, he has to have his hands free and I think that makes them cold sometimes.

My son has been on and off his sleep schedule. Yesterday he woke up once but I was able to put him back in bed. Oh I slept good! But last night he kept waking up. I wonder if it has to do with the temporature because his cheeks and hands were a bit cold. But I had a blanket wrapped under him. His problem is he doesnt like having his hands wrapped in the blanket so I have to leave his hands out. Ever since he was born, he didnt like sleeping on his back. He had to be on his side with his legs propped on a pillow. crazy i know. How do I get him to sleep through the night and get him used to not sleeping with all these things in his crib?

Grace is doing this also. Turns out she was rolling over in her sleep "practicing" her new skills and she would wake herself up and be scared. Also- I think lately she is just hungry!

Same thing happened with my baby until I took out the sleep positioner I would always put her in. She needed to move around freely.

Very well could just be a growth spurt. When they hit these it messes up everything! Eating habit sleeping habit and mood swings. Also could be teething. He is fastly approaching 6 months and thats the average time for babies to start teething.
