My 3 yr old grinds his teeth at night in his sleep. Is this due to anxiety or just genetics ('cos my husband grinds his teeth in his sleep too)? He is so young and this habit will give him teeth and gum problems in the long run. Anyone else has this issue? What help can i get for him?

My daughter does the same thing. I brought it up with her dentist and he said not to worry about it. That a lot of children do it.

my nine year old has grinded his teeth since he was three. the dentists wont give him a bite guad till all his permanent teeth come in. My sons has gotten better over the last year. When he would gind his teeth i would hole his jaw and he would stop. You are not alone. :)

My three year old grinds her teeth at night too. I only notice it because she sleeps with me most nights. Still working on that. : ) Anyhow, I notice she grinds her teeth when she is sick, overtired or going through a growth spurt. When I hear her I gently massage her jaw to make her loosen her clenching.
