my daughter has just finished an antibiotic after sufffering a viral infection. she finished her antibiotic yesterday. we were in the garden playing for hours and when she came in and i went to bath her i noticed which looked like hives all over her legs and hands and arms. they not bed bugs, chicken pox i have not changed the washing powder nor has her diet changed. im wondering could it be the antibiotic or maybe she got bitten in the garden by insects or stung by something.or may be alergic to plants in the garden she seems in good form and isnt scratching. anyone else experiencing or has experenced this. shes 19months old. i dont know weather to wait to bring her to the doctor in the morning for get it checked or if i leave it till then it could be serious and ill feel bad for leaving it . dont know what to do. my doctor isnt there till the morning

hiya i ended up taking her to the hospital because while changing her i notice they were starting to join up and spread to her face. to cut a long story short the doctors there asked me was she in a forest. he said it was an alergy but i cant remember how to pronounce it. he said they still dont know how kids get it but it has been known to happen if children have been around certain plants or trees. also the cause is antibiotics, sitting on grass things like this. i cant pin point how she got it as in the same day she had been sitting beside trees in the back of the car on the way home from garden center. had been sitting on the grass playing, she had been on an antibiotic and also got a new sand pit that day so dont know if the sand was even a factor plus it couldve been a bite she got and was alergic to it. they couldnt nor could i really know for sure which of these triggered it. all i could do really is keep her out of the garden and wait for the spots to fade. this was yesterday and today they are fading. i was told however if they were to get worse tobring her back but she seems to be on the up. as i said she is in great form, eating, her normal ususal self and hasnt got a temp or anything like that so all i can do is wait for this to go. hopefully tomorrow ill notice more of a difference. will keep you posted. thanks for all your comments

HI Lindsey, i know what you mean, i thought my 20 month old was getting eaten alive then i started putting a mossie repelent on her everytime she went outside, we flea bombed the house got the cat a new flea collar, sprayed stuff on the lawn just incase it was one of these and they were still getting her, so i put mossie plug ins through the house styill kept getting something on her. Then i was told a friend of mine when she was little had a reaction to washing powder when she was little and came up in what looked like bites, i had just changed her washing powder from bubs washing powder to a cold power sensitive which is what we used. So i changed it to omo sensitive this still didn't stop it. I put her back on the bub washing powder - NO NEW BITES...If you have started something new in diet or washing powder, soap etc just start to eliminate things and see if it makes a difference, its hard but soooo worth it. If you can get Pinetarsol it goes in the bath it comes out yellow and smells a bit but it stops them scratching... Good luck let me know how you go..

Give her an oatmeal bath, maybe it is heat rash. My 21 month old twins boy get it after playing or walkign outside.
