I was wondering what time everyone puts their baby to bed and what time they get up? I was reading a book about sleep and thought the bedtime they recommended was a little early. Right now we have an 8:00pm bedtime and wake-up around 7:00. Lately she has been waking up to eat twice. Just curious. Thanks.

I think Lucy is part teenager - she routinely won't go to sleep until 11 or 12, and then is up around 6. I try several times to put her to bed before that but she just won't go down, she cries and cries. She sleeps a lot at daycare while I'm at work but I'm dying on 4-5 hours of sleep a night.

Our little boy goes to bed at 7pm-ish and usually sleeps until 7am or so with no feedings. However, some nights he will wake up and want a bottle at 4am or so and the goes back to bed until 7 or 8am. It's great to be able to sleep again. I never thought we would get to this stage. I would say if she's sleeping good on this schedule now keep her on it. Our son goes to daycare 2 days a week and has to be up at 7:15am, so we didn't want to have to wake him up on those days.

My daughter wakes up at 7am, then she has breast and solids and goes for an hour nap at 9am, then at 11am she has breast, solids and a bottle before a 2hr nap at 12pm. Then at 2pm she has breast and bottle and by 4pm she goes for another hr nap. At 5.30pm she will have solids then a bottle, and 6.15 goes for a bath or shower. At 6.45pm she will have more breast and then to sleep by 7pm. If we stick to that routine she will sleep until 7am the next morning. My daughter is turning 6mths on the 20th Feb, and we have done the "Babywise" routine right from 3 weeks. Best book I could ever recommend.

my daughter goes to sleep between 7 and 8pm and wakes up 1 to 2 times around 1/2am and 4/5am and up by 645/730am for good, depends on how she's feeling... maybe if she didn't poop so much during the night she'd sleep more... i feed her when she gets up but she doesn't really "need" it the real reason she's up is to have a BM,,, lol

We have the same thing.  He goes to bed at 8pm and wakes around 7am.  Ideally he gets up only once for a feeding around 3:30am, although lately he's been waking much more than that, and I don't know why.  He's not hungry...and seems tired, but needs to be comforted.   I think 8pm is a reasonable bedtime at 5-6 months.

My Alex goes to bed about 8 and sleeps 12 hours with no waking at night as a general rule. There have been times he will wake up, but usually it's a diaper change and a small bottle and he goes right back to sleep!

I start bedtime routine around 7pm with my twin girls (six months old on Feb. 11th) They eat their solid foods dinner and then we do baths. We are usually in their bedroom reading stories about 8:30-9:00 and they fall asleep within a few minutes in their cribs. They sleep until 8:00 am!

My son just turned six months and goes to bed around 8-9 pm, right after his last feeding, sometimes he dream feeds around 5am, goes back to sleep until 8 am, I love it! nothing like my first son, who woke up every three hours until he was a year old!

We put our 6 month old to bed around 8:30, she sleeps until about 8:30 with no night feedings. Up until recently we fed her at 9, put her to bed at 9:30 and she slept until 8:30. Usually have 3 1-2 hr naps during the day.

Wow, ok so I seem to be the only early bed time here!! We start our bath/feed/sleep routine at 5pm! He sleeps so little during the day (half hour naps maybe 3 times) that by 5 he's exhausted. So I feed him a bit where I've gotto prevent him from falling asleep, so he can have a bath with dad, and then I feed him again until he falls asleep somewhere  between 5.45 and 6.45pm. He then wakes up 1ce, 2ce or 3 times in the night.....also keeps us guessing :-). He always wakes around 6am, but needs to sleep again withing 1.5hrs.

What is a bed time, lol? I have a 5 yr old son who still to this day won't go to bed until 11, and now my daughter is doing the same, going to bed late. They both get enough sleep though. He is in Pre-school 3 days a weeks and he get's up at 8 on those days, and then the other days he sleeps until 8:30-9:00. And she sleeps from usually 10:30-11:00 until 9 on days that I don't have to take my son to school. But she almost always falls back to sleep for an hr to and hr and a half after her first bottle. and then she also takes 2-3 naps during the day.

Up until this week we had a 9:00 bedtime and she was sleeping until about 7:00.  The book I was reading said she needed to go to bed earlier and would not wake up earlier.  I didn't believe it.  I was expecting to get pup super early the next day.  But, I put her down at 8:00 and she still slept until 7:00.  Last night I tried 7:45 and she still slept until 7:00.  Who would have guessed?  The only bad part is my husband doesn't get to spend as much time with her in the evenings.

We start our bedtime routine at 6:45 p.m.  Bath, milk, reading (she loves to flip pages) and bed by 7:30 p.m.  She gets a dream feed at around 10:30 p.m. and then we usually wake her up at 7 a.m.  She loves her sleep so she'll play until around 8 a.m. and then nap again until 10:30 or 11:00 a.m.

I start our routine around 7pm. I feed him his solid foods, then bathe him. Then around 7:40 we head into his bedroom with only a night light on. I play some lullabies on iTunes while I feed him his bottle and when I get up to put him down I play the same last lullaby so he knows it's time to sleep. He is usually in the crib by 8pm and asleep by 8:10 or 8:15. He sometimes wakes up around 2 for another bottle, then will sleep until 8am. OR he will sleep through until 5:30 or 6, then go back to bed until 8 or 9am - he likes to keep us guessing.

We also put our daughter to bed between 9 and 10.  Thats about when she gets tired and she doesn't wake up at all through the night.  We have to wake her up during the week at 7 to drive her to daycare so we can get to work on time, but once she's there she usually sleeps some more.  We get to sleep in on weekends without her waking up too so it's great.  I'm glad we aren't the only ones putting her to bed later.  I usually hear people say 7 or 8 and I was starting to feel singled out!

I put my daughter to bed late, too! She never has required much sleep, and we kind of waited to see when she would be tired. We actually start her last bottle around 9, and she ends up going to sleep between 9:30 and 10. Some nights she sleeps all night, and sometimes she's up a couple of times. She wakes up in the morning between 7:30 and 8. I know eventually she will need to have an earlier bedtime, but right now I'm home with her and it works for us!

Lisa, thats how I feel too! I'm a night owl and he may be too! He gets his 12 hours plus and takes naps during the day! So I agree with you it works for us!!

well we put the twins to bed any time between 7 and 8 and they wake up 12 hours later (we feed them a dream feed at about 10.30ish but hoping to drop this soon as weaning early!)
