We are trying to change my sons bedtime routine a little bit. Instead of nursing him to sleep we would like him to fall alseep better on his own. I was just wondering what you all do for bedtime routines and how well they work.

we have our bath at 7 then we have naked playtime for about 15-20 min while I put lotion on him, then he gets dressed in his jammies, between 7:30 and 8 he has his bottle (8 oz with cereal) then we play quietly for about 15 - 20 minutes have a short cuddle, then in the crib he goes, I turn on the mobile and he is usually asleep within 5 min. A little bit of crying but not too bad.

we have a flexable routine. but we get her ready for bed pjs sleep sak and then i nurse but not to sleep then she goes to bed with a dummy, if she wakes in the night before 6.30am she has her dummy put back in and goes back off on her own. but any changes i have made i have done day time first then once she has settled with the new change in the day time i then change night time, we still wrap at night but not in the day time. good luck

My daughter has dinner about 6pm, then it's bath time. Then on to lotion and jammy's then i rock and read her a book while feeding her a bottle. She usually has 3-4 oz., after she's done drinking I lay her in her crib, usually she's mostly awake and she goes right to sleep. She has the same schedule every single night, my husband and I work everything else out around her night time routine. I think babies need some consistency. Good luck with your routine :)

I feed my son rice cereal at 5:30. Bath at 6. Lotion and pj's at 6:30. Read a story. then nurse with a lullaby then he's in his crib and asleep before 7......usually. Probably not what you want to hear since I nurse him to sleep too, but if he wakes up, he goes back to sleep on his own most of the time.

We start around 7:00.  First, we have playtime on the floor (usually with daddy) since he does not see her much during the day for about 10-15 min.  Second, we do cereal and bottle.  Next, we do bath - the cereal gets a little messy.  Then, read books, pjs on, and nurse.  Finally I rock her in my arms, sing a song and kiss her goodnight.  I make sure she is good and drowsy before I put her in the crib.

I feed my daughter either a fruit or vegetable at nine, get her in the bath by 9:45, have her dressed and ready for bed by 10:15 and then read her a story while she drinks a bottle. After about four ounces, her eyes start rolling and I put her down in her crib with her humidifier on and she is usually out in about five minutes tops. We stick to the routine pretty well and she doesn't fight me on any of it...yet.
