As long as your child is walking by ~ 18 months, everything is fine. My husband was walking at 7 months, me at ~ 1 year. My older daughter was around 1 year when she was completely walking on her own but her younger sister was 8 1/2 months. Every kid is different. Early walking doesn't mean anything as long as the child is developing normally and happy!

my son started walking a week before he turned one but our daughter isn't anywhere near being ready to start walking and she's about the same now that he was then...it'll happen when it happens. If you're really worried, talk to your pedi to see if your baby is developmentally delayed. As a mom, you do have your instincts...listen to them and raise questions if you think you should. The worst that could happen is that nothing is wrong because if there is something to be concerned about, its better to know sooner than later. Good luck!

Hi, Dylan will be 1 on 22nd Aug and he's not walking properly yet. He'll walk with his walker and cruise around on his own and even walks just holding my finger. He does steps all the time but just isnt confident yet so he'll wobble over. My daughter was a good 15 months when she started to walk - all babies are different.

walking isnt considered a milestone so when she is ready. they say if there not walking by 16months or something like then just let you doctor know. My daughter will be 1 on the 11th of august and she is just now taking the leaps of faith after 4 months of cruising

I have a lot of friends whose kids started walking after 1 year; one little girl didn't start walking until she was 18 months old. So, as long as your kiddo is active and healthy, it should be fine! My son will be one on August 24th and he just started cruising around; personally I think it's because we have a dog and Finn's one goal is to catch our dog. :)

My little man, Aiden, will be 1 on the 16th of August. He pulls himself up on everything, but won't walk! And if we pull him up onto his feet, he laughs & won't stop JUMPING up and down!!! LOL! My older son, Evan, was 15 months when he started walking. I was questioned at his daycare a lot about it, which made me panic- so I asked the doctor. He said they don't usually worry about it until they are 18 months old. My older son was a bigger boy (always the 90th percentile), and the dr said his body-hips/joints/muscles- just has to get strong enough to support his larger frame. He's 2 1/2 now- runs outside before I can get his shoes on him! :-) His brother, on the other hand, is a peanut... and just plain stubborn! :-) Enjoy it while it lasts! She'll get there, no worries!

My son will be 1 on the 14th! He just started walking last week really well! He took his first steps at 11 months then waited 2 weeks to do it again, but the 2nd time was sooo much better than the first. He still doesn't walk that much or that great, but he'll let go of things and slowly walk across the living room floor! He's super bow legged so we all figured that would make him a late walker, but he seems to be doing fairly well.
If it makes you feel any better, my cousin's little one is 16 months and started walking at 15 months.

My son can't stand on his own yet. He rarely pulls up on anything. And anytime I try to get him to just stand, he's trying to take off with absolutley no balance. He'll get there in his own time though, as will your daughter. They share a birthday!

My son will be one on August 19 and he's not walking yet. He walks along the furniture and occasionally stands by himself, but unfortunately he's got my lack of grace and balance. He's been pulling himself up since seven months so I figured he'd walk early, but he's not. I'm in no hurry though, he gets into enough trouble as it is. lol

my son is 11 months and he's not walking. 18 months is considered late your kid to not be walking (according to doctors). Babies are different. Once he finds her balance she'll be outta there.
Also I heard the longer the crawl the better they read??? IDK if this is true (doubt it) lol but it made me feel better haha

All children are different. My nephew started at 13months and my daughter started at 11months. Your daughter will start when she's ready. Try a push walker and holding her hands and walking. Just help her and don't force her. Good Luck. Happy upcoming Birthday.
